  • Bob jumped right from the first fence and Rachel never looked likely to give him a tough time. Breathing off, not fully recovered from Cheltenham? Strange decision to run him perhaps... or are all these superhyped horses not actually that good?

That's Shishkin (excuses), Bob (possible excuses) and Envoi Allen off the top of my head who have 'disappointed' recently. Is this a normal trend that I've never noticed before?

    • Bob wasn't travelling after a mile so it's not the trip. His jumping looked better though.

Happy Capodanno got the win. Could be a player in the Irish 3m chases next year if he improves like he should do over the summer.

I'd of sent him to the fields after Cheltenham. I imagine a wind op is going to happen but being in Ireland we won't know.

        • What on earth was Henry thinking deciding to run him here, not even pocket talking as I didn't have him backed at all in any bet, went from saying we are putting him away to running him???

          • Nice to see Capodanno come home in front there, needed to be up with the pace as didn't get into any sort of rhythm at Cheltenham, if he'd have been taken along longer he'd have won by further. Still some sketchy jumps but did that very well in the end.

Yup. Agree entirely. Such an odd thing to run the horse on the face of it. Out to 40/1 with PP for the GC ...

Did us all a favour I'd say

Stop anyone from getting involved in him for 2023

Is he envoi 2.0 or samcro 3.0?

Horse can't jump a fence to save his life, hes so slow and lands very steep

Thankfully the first time tongue tie was enough to completely put me off

I do regret not backing capodanno but having 0 bets today definitely saved me plenty

I didnt back today but had the Bob & Honey unbeaten bets. Yeah lucky to get to this stage, but mildly irritating to see it go down as a clearly unfit Bob goes out for a jog

                        That’s what I was thinking watching it…..

                        Samcro. Envoi Allen. Bob???

                        • I've just watched the bartlett back, I was watching Ginto on the day and was too shell shocked after he broke down to really care what happened

But blimey the nice guy absolutely cantered all over them didn't he and at 3.6 on betfair definitely looks worth a few quid imo

It was only his second ever hurdles start and is surely open to plenty of improvement

Yeah was all over them in the end and unfortunately we'll never know where Ginto might have been. Definitely open to bundles of improvement and if he wins tomorrow and improves again for a fence then 16/1 skybet Punchestown and BANC is a good way to go to get him onside imo. He wins tomorrow and goes 4's or less with these shocking markets?

                            • Odd one Bob. He’s not quite lived up to the hype, but he’s won a Grade 1 against similar opposition to today with ease. And today he’s been smoked by them. Not like he got tailed off a furlong out. The difference between today and Xmas isn’t ‘a loss of form’ surely. There’s got to be something up. I just hope they can identify it and put it right.

He might be better over hurdles, but I don’t buy that ‘he’s not a chaser’ either. You don’t win a Grade 1 against that opposition if you’re not a chaser.

                              Ah, Bob.

                              • Guiri look like he's been laid out for another big run in the first race?

Won last year by miles off 113, was put up to 123 but down to 119 now

Though the hobbs horse with shane fitzgerald booked just screams long term plot
