          • Even Ruby thinks he'll be hard to place off 165. It's the problem with running in 16 G1s in the last 19 races. The latest figures show we've got 2lb back but it always takes much longer to come down the handicap and, at 10, he doesn't really have that time.

As it happens, if he comes out of this race well, he may go to Far Hills for the American Grand National, a 2m5f hurdle race!

            • Can see him possibly going for the Grand National next year Archie. He does seem to love Aintree.

I don't see us allowing that. He's not very big and top handicaps are nearly always won by improving horses whose true ability has been concealed.

Tiger wasn't that big . The Aintree fences are not what they once were. Horses just brush right through them now. Classier types do a lot better these days.

Trainer [Peter Croke] likes her alot but i havent yet decided how much salt to add to his statements yet
She ran in her first schooling race in Monksgrange today - 3rd over 2 mile ridden by Brian lawless who said she gave him a very good feel. Trainer says likely to need 2.4 to start and a bit more soft in the going. V happy considering her experience and level of fitness.

Mas poder runs in the curragh tomorrow for a first sighter before hopefully a bit of fun in Dundalk over the winter and then breeding her next yr.

                    • The very best of luck with all of them Thorne, and specifically with Mas Poder at the Curragh.

Nice to have some winter jumps interest with the mare too when she makes the track.

                        • I have a share (nostril hair) in Huelgoat, who has won his last 3 races in good style, he's been on the go since May so is probably very much an autumn horse

Spectre - Nice big horse you have there and will almost certainly come on for that run. All the best with him going forward

                          • Thankyou gentlemen, and apologies for the slow response. I hadn't logged in for a few days.

Good luck with Huelgoat for the rest of the season Joleg.

Sorry mate, only just seen this

Was mildly confident yesterday, sadly with the withdrawals it became a bit of a no contest, he jumps very very well and has won his last 4 by a total of 36 lengths. He may be a bit of an Autumn horse which is why he's ran so often lately, he prefers a bit of give in the ground so i'm guessing he will be put away for a while now and come back out in the spring. I'll try to keep you updated
