He should run a nice enough race, but as a future staying chaser, there's a risk he runs in to one that's just a bit quicker than him.

Waiting any longer for three miles it'll be harder to get suitable ground, and there's a risk he'll go over the top. Unless he comes out of the race bouncing it's also likely that'll be it for the season. A few schooling session over fences and then a couple of months of getting fat in a field will be the order of the day.

His real racing career starts in October.
Best wishes with him Paul, will look forward to seeing him run tomorrow....

          • The market hasn't missed Jeff, and he's odds on to win tomorrow. I think he should be favourite, but not odds on.

As I said previously, he ideally wants 3 miles, so this is short of his optimum trip. The Henderson horse is expected to come on from it's Bumper debut, and she's bred to be sharper than Jeff. She get's the mares allowance too. The Olly Murphy horse was a 90 rated Pointer and clearly has ability, and he's stepping up in trip to 2m5f which is likely to be the trip he wants for the moment, and again he can be expected to improve from what he's shown so far.

So there are definite dangers, but we hope his baseline ability and the fact he's a tough bugger will see him over the line ahead of them, despite it not being ideal circumstances.

Whatever the result, win lose or draw, it's a stepping stone and more experience towards next season and nothing else.

And once again, thanks for taking him to heart and feeling involved. It means a lot.
