Jeff takes up his entry at Warwick on Thursday. Finding a suitable 3 mile maiden or novice is proving impossible, so he runs over 2m5f with the hope that the expected rain arrives tomorrow and it's no faster than good to soft. He should run a nice enough race, but as a future staying chaser, there's a risk he runs in to one that's just a bit quicker than him.
Waiting any longer for three miles it'll be harder to get suitable ground, and there's a risk he'll go over the top. Unless he comes out of the race bouncing it's also likely that'll be it for the season. A few schooling session over fences and then a couple of months of getting fat in a field will be the order of the day.
His real racing career starts in October.Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.
