I reckon Hollow Games has a good squeak in the Troytown tomorrow. Everything was happening a bit quick for him in the Galway Plate with the sharp track/good going, he stayed on well into a place despite that but Navan will be much more to his liking, he’s 2/2 at the track & only up 2lbs from Galway. 15/2 6 places e/w with PP

GA Law 8-1 B365 - Rehearsal Chase Newcastle Saturday.
Looks a decent price, 8 runners right now and one that might plant himself. Plus 2 others that have the race as second preference.
The others are out of the handicap and 2 trained by Mr consistent B Haslam, so who knows how they'll run.
His price reflects his last couple of runs but the weight Shishkin has to give is not just a couple of pounds compared to the Ryanair.
Obviously likely the meeting called off.
Obviously a likely rule 4 if they do run.
But you may end up with value even with the rule 4, and especially if Shishkin doesn't play ball.
Full disclosure, I've already backed Ga Law and a wave of the sea e/w antepost, but have just had more on the 8-1 NRNB.
Ps, Elvis Mail is respected big time and I toyed with backing him also at 7-1 Ladbrokes, but it's probably one bet too many.Last edited by Quevega; 30 November 2023, 07:39 PM.

Saturday 1.40pm
Sebastopol Each Way 20/1
Beat Stage Star last season over fences at this meeting giving him 5lbs.
7lb claimer on his back which brings his weight down to a mark that he's won off once and been 2nd off 5 times over hurdles.
Trainer and jockey are both in top, top form.
Sebastopol is 20/1 with a few bookies.
Was going to run in Paddy Power Gold Cup but was pulled out because of the Soft Ground.Conditions will be much more to his liking Saturday

My point is that he's a very good conditional and his 7lb claim is a big advantage imo for tomorrow's race and brings him down to a level which he's won off and been placed several times before.

Fairyhouse Sunday
12:55
Gordon is usually represented quite strongly in this race having the 1st and 2nd last year. Minella Crooner is one I followed last term, he has some noticeable scalps to his name but disappointed at the festival when going out like a light in the NHC. Apparently he had back issues and was operated on so hopefully that has fixed things. Decent enough return and he should be fit enough to run well here. Going forward I think he could turn out to be an Ultima or Irish National horse. He's one I might look to back for the Ultima in running during this. Currently priced at 20s with Unibet.

The Royal Bond doesn't look overly strong this year, I was hoping to see DML but you can't always get what you want. I'm happy to take on An Tobar here. He won well on his first start but that race was a bit of a crawl a good 10 seconds slower than the 3 YO race on the card. Going through his breeding I can't help but think he'd been seen to better effect over further and there could be one here that does him for a bit of toe. The one I want to take him on with is Encanto Bruno, the form of his Cheltenham win is working out quite well Mel Monroe ran well in behind Croke Park the other day, Push the button has since come out and won. Isaac Des Obeaux pissed in the other day, and even the last horse finished 2nd last time out. Watching his race back he was pretty keen and raced as if dropping back to 2 mile wouldn't be a problem. He wasn't much value at 2/1 ante post but now at 7/2 I think he's a bet.

Letsbeclearaboutit. Love the way he jumps a fence, looked a natural, stamina assured for this and he actually looked to show a little more speed than when he was racing over hurdles. The form isn't much to shout home about but we already know he has a decent level of form over hurdles. Found A Fifty looked decent on debut but we didn't get to see much jumping and beating Colonel Mustard by a handful of lengths stinks of Hollow Games from last season. Colonel Mustard didn't exactly do the form many favors this weekend. I'd be most worried about Sharjah, you know he's going to be plenty fit enough for this too.

Gutted Irish Point hasn't turned up here, thought he'd have had a great shot being race fit, I can understand the owners didn't want to run both him and Teahupoo though. Had a great day punting this card last year with the highlight being Teahupoo winning at 20/1 . I probably should be backing him again but decided to go with the stable 2nd string instead. I thought Zanahiyr ran well in behind Bob Olinger the other day, the form looks pretty solid with Home by the lee in behind giving it a solid look. Maybe they do have Bob back to his best! If that's the case I think a race fit Zanahiyr is no back number here. 16/1 looks value.
Of the other races I'm looking forward to seeing Kala Conti she looks like she could turn into a Triumph horse.
Good luck with the selections folks another great days racing
Long bitcoin, long gold, long silver, long g/s opening day Cheltenham Festival

An Tobar wins the Royal Bond.
What's Up Darling would be the 2nd best in it for me. 9/2 without An Tobar at the moment. Might do that and also the forecast. Probably got the best form in the race, is probably a 2 miler and the rest of them all need further. Surprised Jack picked Farren Glory but he got What's Up Darling wrong last time.
The Drinmore is a difficult race. Found A Fifty might get a free lead and be able to get into a rhythm. The Down Royal race was poor though.
Letsbeclearaboutit looked good last time. Mighty Tom was poor next time out but Lucid Dreams has won since off 133 and then just beaten by Imagine. Solness won a handicap chase off 138 as well and he beat all those easily. Couldn't have Sharjah or the rest. May do Letsbeclearaboutit.
Impaire et Passe wins the Hattons Grace and they'll be hoping he does it well. I'm hoping Ashroe runs well.
The Model Kingdom possibly in the handicap hurdle.
Hoping to see a good performance from Undeniable Alibi with a view to next year in the bumper.

At Cheltenham today......
Doing 3 bets only
Stage Star 11/10
Bob Ollinger 13/8
And the Double at 9/2
Playing 1 away on one at Fairyhouse.....
Instit 5/1
Utterly stupid price. Beaten ADV twice, once at the course and us unbeaten around Fairy.
Willie also said yesterday that she'll come on more for the run that ADV .
Good luck anyone else going to Cheltenham today.

Chianti Classico @ 5/2. I don’t think it's a particularly good race and he's the improving 7yo on a 3 timer vs exposed horses with the best jockey. Really like him here.
Broadway Boy @ 3/1. Always under respected this lad. He's the best horse in the race with the best form and for my money has the best jockey on board. Warwick will suit as will coming back 2f. I don't think Apple Away is anyway near top class and GD can make errors. I think BB should be clear favourite based on what he's achieved so far and I'd love to see him win this well and for connections to name check the BANC as the target in march. Ive done doubles with Good Boy Bobby (27/1) and also with Hunters Yarn (5/1) who opened at 4/6 when I thought he should be 1/3.
Notlongtillmay @ 7/1 (ante post). Question marks on all of them really. Banbridge fitness has to be taken on faith and Edwardstone & Pic are older horses giving NLTM 6lbs. All the others have obvious holes but NLTM doesn't. I rarely agree with Tom the hack Segal but if this lad were trained by a name he'd probably be vying for favouritism based on his actual form to that price called me.
Impose Toi with Hunters Yarn double pays 6/1 which I am happy with. I think IT wants every inch of 2m5f and those jumps over the last 2 LTO cost him vs Luccia and I think he'd jump better later over further.
The CC, BB, HY treble pays 20/1
Dancing On My Own at 25/1 EW was also one I have taken a chance on.
Good luck folks

The Changing Man was the bet in that Warwick G2 imo. Opened up 9/1, if not bigger. Been clipped a few points now and probably about the right price.
Hope Edwardstone wins at Kempton but it'll be a good race that. So no single and just the Cheltenham double.
