  • Interesting horse in the last at Lingfield, shining crystal traveling over from Ireland.

ran last night and finished well beat, but now turns out again very quickly and there’s been a bit of money for it, 22s into 14s so far on 365. I’m thinking the two runs in two days might possibly be a strategy, finish well beat on day one, bookies put you in at a big price for the second day due to the poor run and also thinking your unlikely to take up the second entry. It’s also a fairly popular thought with some that if you run a horse two days in a row that the second run is usually better than the first.

might be way off but thought it was worth a mention at a good each way price.

        • Will be using Space Voyage for a few roll ups today, Huntingdon 3.10. Won well last time despite being driven from a way out. Will relish the step up in trip.

Done him with Sir Gerhard & Edwardstone so far, probably put a few more on once I’ve had a beer

              • Stormez great stuff - I got as far as the door of WH at 3.07pm and peered inside hoping to see some prices but couldn't see any screens with Huntingdon listed.

So did I venture forth into the warm and dry environs of the bookie - of course I didn't. Hope you were on board pal. Great to meet up this week, best of luck for the second half.

                • He's my hero runs in the bumper at Clonmel.

2nd to Croke Park in a PTP only beaten a length and we know the reputation that Croke has.

                  3/1 vs
Castlebawn North - beaten 25 lengths on debut (winner 9th in Chelt Bumper)
Talk in the Park - beaten 10 lengths on debut (winner 19th in Chelt Bumper)

If Croke Park is the real deal it would suggest HMH must have a good chance

                    • ….a fancied 20-1 when fell at the first last year, I’ll certainly add Enjoy D’Allen to my portfolio if an intended runner & when extra places become available. 2 Hurdle runs followed by a couple of chases, maybe campaigned with one race in mind, 6lb lower & currently 80-1 this time.

There is no reason he can finish ahead of Vanillier on their last outing, except this is the GN.

                      • Ohhh I do like a bit of Chepstow to kick things off

Just focussing on the one race this weekend from a better perpestive, the silver trophy

                        really liking two here

                        - Blow Your Wad (great name), had wind issues during former part of last season, appears to have been sorted. Twice entered into grade 1’s so they must think highly of him. Also ran him in the aintreee bumper the season before. Only 5, one his only handicap. Trainer won this with Tea Clipper. Has entries for this and the Welsh champion hurdle, jockey booked up for this. Shall see if he is declared today

                        - Sonigino, has been working his way through handicaps last season. Ran a great race at aintree from off the pace. Probably has the strongest form. Nicholls trained so expect him to be ready for this. Similar question to last season, is there anything well handicapped that could beat the top weight…. Not sure there is much there other than a improver like Blow Your Wad

will take another look after final decs, especially to see what comes over from Ireland

                        • Love a good veteran chase, as much as for obvious reasons they're not the most reliable sorts these days. Strange to think of Danny Kirwan as a veteran but if he's on a going day here I reckon he's got a right good chance. And he's usually on a going day first time out. Favs got a fair weight swing with him from Ascot last year but DK beat him a mile. Worth a little early season investment for me.

Can see why you landed on Sonigino as well. Seems a fair enough price to me.

Between those two and Captain Teague I'm hoping Nicholls has a good couple of days.

                          • Seen Sign From Above has been left in for Saturday
Mark Walsh booked, enough to take notice

Tend to favour a 5-6 year old for this that has had less than 2 handicaps, this fella has had none

hasnt gone unnoticed today, price has been chipped in

wow, feel so rusty at this, lol first non-AP bet for a while

will get some beers and worl through the card

                            • Put a bet on the Silver Trophy

Went through the card, and this lad did pop out when I first looked at it but tonight.... he's just ticking all the boxes

                              Lallygag - 9/1

                              - Want a horse that has race in less than 2 handicaps, ideally 1 or zero. Ran in one at end of season, Cobden was on board. 7lbs claimer this time around
                              - There is a race at Exeter, 1st week in December that generates some really good horse - Getaway Trump, Sporting John, Orbys Legend (used this method in '21 to get the winner of this race. Lally was narrowly beaten by Grey Dawning (1/2F that day) whilst carrying a double penalty, claimer took off 7. That was a huge run
                              - I was initially put off when I saw Lallygag beaten put to the side against Luccia, but its a Nicholls horse running in February!!! A month when Nicholls yard struggle - flu jab season... or what ever it is...
                              - Nicholls horse, always worth siding at this meet

Backed. Boy, that beer really helped with me picking out a selection

                              • Not a tip, simply an observation. The mare in the Persian War was a very close 2nd to Sandor Clegane at the Punchestown Festival. That is easily the best Hurdling form on offer in the race and seems to have gone unnoticed because of the presence of Captain Teague. If Sandor Clegane was in this race would he not go off favourite??
