& Lily Du Berlais in the last, she has to give weight away to the rest of the field but loads of winners came out of that bumper she won in Leopardstown. 4/1 win
I was actually on Lily du berlais as well today. Decent run again and would have won it bar the extra weight. She would be one I give a chance to in the mares novice hurdle if she went hurdling soon.
Does Crawford keep many on for the Munirs? Wonder will LDB get a transfer to mullins at some point and if she did she would definitely shorten considerably and has ready beaten ashroe diamond
Decided to have a little nibble on a couple today.
Lingfield 3.20 Boom The Groom 20/1 E/W - Just a bit of a cliff horse for me, over the years owes me nothing, but always have a bet on him and today is no different. Back down to his last winning mark of 62, he's no spring chicken, that's for sure but his recent races suggest there is still life in him yet with regards to racing, he'll do for me in a weak affair. He's gone well at Lingfield before.
Punchestown 12:50 Clonshire River 20/1 E/W - One from the p2p sphere that I've been waiting to see. Won the race that Hiddenvalley Lake got taken out by a loose horse in, but he was up there with him and still finished 10 lengths ahead of the 3rd that day. I know very little about his connections, so hopefully they know what they are doing. He'll do well to beat the top two in the market, but he's a place prospect if he can follow up his p2p win.
Punchestown 2:55 Sandor Clegane 2/1 - One I've been waiting to step up in trip. Fair bumper form, arguably better than Demandrivingdouvans, who is favourite for the race today. I expect both to improve for the step up in trip, but favour Sandor Clegane, whose form with Three Card Brag looks solid enough with that one then going close in a Grade 3 the next time out.
going for an overly optimistic Gordon Elliot yankee tomorrow. 3 winners today so I'm hoping his luck didn't arrive a day too soon.
Fakiera - Upped to an extreme distance with a workable mark, money looks to be down so could be a good day to catch him. Was pretty promising during his novice hurdler season but not really progressed. He always looked like he wanted an extreme test and could see him out running his current mark. Maybe with a view to sneaking in to one of the nationals this season.
Irish Point - Not really that much to go off, except the 2nd in his only start in France has gone on to win multiple grade 1's in France for Tom George. Only start in Ireland told us he can jump and can quicken, ran at a crawl about 10 seconds slower than the handicap and other maiden on the card. Taking a chance on potential here.
Mighty Potter - A bit of a cliff horse but IMO should be fav for this race based on what was achieved over hurdles, already has the beating of TSL, people say TSL was unlucky that day but mighty potter always had him covered, just idling Infront. Was probably a tad unlucky here in the bond last year finishing 3rd another 100 yards and he'd have been well on top. Could have easily been 3 grade 1's to his name. Can forgive him the run at Cheltenham, the way he hit one down the back and how he landed after put him straight out the race. Just love the way he ranges up to horses sticking his head out at them, he's an absolute bully
Teahupoo - Cliff horse number 2, giving him 1 more chance at a big price. The way he beat Darasso last term had me thinking he could give Honeysuckle a real race in the champion hurdle, but he ran absolutely no race at all. There was conflicting talk last year, Robbie Power came in after Gowran commenting that he'd improve for better ground, but then after that dreadful run the excuse became the ground was too quick. Didn't get any better at Punchestown so who knows. Could just be he wasn't good enough on the day and was probably a bit over cooked by that point after a long season. Leap of faith but at 20/1 I'll chance him, he could just be best caught fresh on winter ground, first time out reads 11... maybe tomorrow is the day.
Actually more excited for tomorrows racing than today. Cracking card.

Long bitcoin, long gold, long silver, long g/s opening day Cheltenham Festival
Very excited for the Fairyhouse action tomorrow, I’m going for
12.25 Lossiemouth win 11/4 (she won her French start with a front running display & I think Danny will get on well with her, she may be hard to catch with her allowance)
12:55 Braeside e/w 5 places 18/1 (a former hope of Gordon’s for the NHC he has a bit of class about him & happy to discount the last run as a pipe opener)
13:25 Path D’oroux e/w 13/1 boosted with Hills (I’ve made my case for him aplenty in the Novice Hurdle thread)
13:55 Mighty Potter e/w 5/1 (seems to be underestimating him slightly based on an underwhelming run last time out, there shouldn’t be any shortage of pace or front runners to follow which should see a much improved performance)
14:30 Honeysuckle in a few win multiples (I think Klassical Dream will give her a lovely tow into the race & set it up for her to burn them off turning for home)
15:05 Man O Work e/w 12/1 (beaten 6 lengths by Prairie Dancer who’s in the RB & wasn’t disgraced by Brazil & Fil D’or at Naas last time out)
15:40 Chapeau Du Soliel win doubles (appears to be one WPM’s main Champion Bumper darts this season)
Wolverhampton 7.20 Gavi Di Gavi 16/1 - I was surprised Gavi Di Gavi was such a big price tbh. His form over C&D reads 3-1-6-0-1, his form with non-claiming jockeys over C&D reads 3-1-1, and tonight Rossa Ryan takes over. Rossa Ryan seems to have been Alan Kings go to flat jockey over the past 14 days, having had only 3 runners, but all 3 ridden by Rossa, finishing 2-1-2. Alan King is in fair form under both codes as well. Gavi Di Gavi is not only the only C&D winner in the field, he's actually the only course winner too, which again, surprised me he was such a big price. Horses for courses and all that. He was not given much chance at Kempton LTO, where he was a bit of a drifter in the market, and went off @ 40/1. This race was also up in class among horses rated near the mid 90's. The horse who won that day has since gone in again. A drop back down in class tonight, with the highest rated being 82, I'm hoping the late money comes tonight for him and he's on a going day.
Cheltenham 3:35 Captain Morgs 9/2 - Big on Captain Morgs today. Ran with some real credit, and possibly could have won had Nico wanted too, IMO, last time out, but his stablemate, Call Me Lord, won the race instead. Call Me Lord followed that up with a very good performance next time out, finishing 2nd off a 4lb higher mark. I think Captain Morgs will appreciate this step up in trip today. I think he's a propsect for the Pertemps Hurdle too, at a big price, he's already qualified, and likely needs to go close to winning today to push his mark up slightly to guarantee he'll get in further down the line.

Hope you don't mind me posting a fancy for today in here.
KENZAI WARRIOR (2:23 Taunton) having his second run over hurdles for Roger Teal (shrewdie trainer!) @ 9/1 (B365)
This was a classy high-90s rated horse on the flat who has won some decent races including the Group 3 Horris Hill as a 2 year old.
Ran in a novice hurdle at Huntingdon a couple of weeks ago, finishing 4th 15 lengths back from the winner Hansard. I've just watched the race back and Kenzai travelled very nicely for the vast majority of the race, got used to the hurdles nicely and trotted round quite wide. Not a great jump at the last and you could see the race was gone, but Daryl Jacob wasn't hard on him up the straight, bit of a swing of the reigns. Once the front three started getting away, Jacob actually looks under his armpit to make sure 4th place was secure and just trotted him home. Nice little "welcomer" to hurdling.
I would expect they may be targetting improvement today, and there's nothing particularly strong looking in the opposition IMO.
Hoping he can AT LEAST grab a place today.

A horse I quite liked on the flat, albeit not disappointed more often than not. As you note, he was racing at a fair level, being a 90's rated animal.
Just re-watched his hurdles debut, and he travelled pretty well throughout, as you note. Hopefully he'll come on for that and I'm going to join you in backing him, but managed to get some 14's, which he's drifted to now

Yes drifted out within seconds of me posting it as a tip. That in itself tells a story!! Be very wary
Somebody's just told me that the ground seems to be going against him. Apparently reckon it will be soft by the off.
