  • Not going mad today with a lot of racing ahead of us over the Christmas period.

    Lucky 63 in particular order:
    Nada To Prada
    Our Power
    Bennys King
    Roskana
    Arrdethlan
    Arrivedeci

Also backed Thyme Hill to win to hopefully qualify for Paddy Powers millionaire draw

    • I'm with kev on Lord Napier, looks very well in based on hurdles form and this trip should really suit.

Think the Betfair Trophy looks a fascinating race I can make a case for half the field, settled on Malaya and Lightly Squeezed. The mare has some decent form in big field handicaps and is off what looks a dangerous mark. The Welsh champion hurdle form is just too good to ignore and the wind op might help with some improvement for the later.

Another one I do like is Silva Eclipse in the 3.15 at Haydock. Proper mudlark who loves it round Haydock when it's like a river, expecting a place at minimum with conditions set to suit nicely and off a mark where 2nd last season in a similar sort of race.

      • Found myself with some time so did a fair bit of work on todays cards which has resulted in some interests:

        Haydock
        2.05 McGowans Pass 11/2 ew
        2.40 Hill Sixteen 3/1 ew 4p

        Ascot
        1.15 Itchy Feet 9/5 win
        1.50 Saint Sonnett 5/1 ew 4p
        3.00 Espoir De Guye 4/1 ew 4p
        3.35 Buzz 7/1 ew 6p

Clearly missed the prices but still represent nice each way options, permed a few together too for the Christmas jackpot.

        Good luck all

        • Bets I've had for today.

          Ascot
          13.50 - Saint Sonnet
          15.00 - Espoir De Guye
          15.35 - Not So Sleepy/Arrivederci

          Haydock
          14.40 - Sojourn

I'm trying to use Caribbean Boy and Gauloise in roll up attempts too. Done a few with Hills but waiting on other firms to price up Gauloise as I want the cash out option.

Main bet is Not So Sleepy. I think he's a massive price IF he can jump off and decides to jump. Obviously a big if but he'll love conditions and I think he is still above his current mark.

          Good luck everyone.

I'm really surprised he's drifted to 11/4 - Had 1 pt last night, 1 pt more now, but conversely the drift has put me off using him in a roll up

              • Plenty on Lord N, here/twitter/tipsters. He jumps poorly so today is the rare occasion the sun omitting a few could well help On a serious note thou his stamina reserves are immense and he won't give up which can't be said for a few in that so looks a decent poke.

                • Time flies bye in the last at Ascot... Highly tried in his bumper days by Henderson with some goid form, in fact he won the same bumper last year that i am maximus did this year.. Dropping back to 2m today will suit him much better..

                  • Highlighted on the mares novice thread probably wrong place, but Gauloise 5/4 for the mares listed novice hurdle tomorrow.

Seems generous imo receiving weight from all and also 10lbs from Sayce Gold.

The SP was far more what I thought she would open up at.

Hoping she can keep improving for the mares novice. Seemed to do it easy enough today imo.

I agree he’s the best horse Kev on hurdles form but the only thing I would say is he is already receiving weight as others have won chases, yet the trainer has put a claimer on? Would that change any opinion?

Not sure if he has a stable jockey or usual jock for Cornerstone Lad.

                      Will love the going though.

Edit - ignore the claimer point, rode 2 runs on the flat

.Wouldnt be suprised to see him beaten on his next 2 starts also...

                        • Two bets for me today. I was impressed with Sojourn when winning at Carlisle and should be suited by this slogathon.

Malaya is the other one. She'll also relish under foot conditions so backed her with the extra places on offer.

                          1pt Sojourn 3/1
                          0.75pt ew Malaya 10/1,6 places.

                          0.5pt double.
0.25pt freebet: the two above and Gauloise for the Mares Novice Hurdle.

The other bet I'm considering is Not So Sleepy. If he can run to the same form as last season he'll win. Big if though.

Her mark of 132 could underestimate her ability by as much as a stone

She won a grade 2 mares novice hurdle, the third papagana is currently rated 145 and was beaten 3 lengths receiving 5lbs off Queenohearts

She then finished tenth beaten 10 lengths in the mares novice hurdle at Cheltenham over a trip way too short for her and giving weight to most of the field

The horses that finished in and around her and their current ratings

                            Posh Trish rated 142
                            Epatante rated 162

Has a long absence to overcome but off this mark has a handicap or two in the locker I reckon

One I will follow for a run or two I think

She is declared over 3 miles and 2m4f at Cheltenham this weekend, if she is strong in the market suggesting she is primed for the run il be having a decent sized each way bet wherever she runs
                            Runs today in the 3:15

Had a few quid on at 4/1 but not sure about 3 miles on soft ground for her

Certainly won't give up if she gets beat today

                                Nice one

                                That was very satisfying

If her mark remains below 140 I think she can go in again
