He’s a happy horse slogging round 3m+, and has no problems in the mud. His run last time was a nice step back in the right direction, as was slightly out of his depth first time out in the Badger Ales.

He looked right at home over 4m at Kelso last time, so any further rain would aid him dropping down back to 3m2f.

He’s only 3lbs higher than his last win which was in a higher grade over a similar distance, and though he’s not always the most fluent jumper if it holds up I can see him running into a place late on.

Or maybe more if they go off too fast!
Getting reminders from the 3rd fence & that was as good as it got

        • Going to have a few quid on Christopher Wood, 11/2 with Bet 365 still, 1ilb lower than last year, and performs nicely at this track. Blue every other firm.

          • Guard Your Dreams in @ 7/1. I don’t rate the favs form at all and thinks he prefers flatter tracks. Not even sure why PN is running McFab here. Earlier in the year PN said re McFabulous - ‘Switching this race to Kempton from Cheltenham’s abandoned card on New Year’s Day is a big plus for McFabulous. I was a bit nervous about him on deep ground at Cheltenham and he will much happier on better ground at Kempton where he was so impressive over this distance in the EBF final just before lockdown’. Tomorrow is proper soft going. I don’t think he’ll run and if he does, he’ll hate it.

All In Love @ Fakenham tomorrow (2.30) must be in 15+ roll ups now at 6/1. He’s expected to win

            • Honest Vic has run 3 acceptable runs in novice chases against good novice chasers. He has been dropped 9lb to a mark of 141. He won off 141 as a hurdler in Oct 1920. Not a great price but a potential winner for me

he’s been in my tracker for a while now, noted “wants further over soft ground” but I’m reluctant to back him today, maybe it’s down to his price and wanting to get a bigger SP. However, I may go the in play market with him

Put The Kettle On, actually liked her today. Yup, she’s away from Cheltenham but I think she’s been ran outside her comfort zone on her two last outings. Further today against ‘slower’ horses and against her own sex.
However, This morning’s drift feels like she could be a NR

Seemingly the drift was fair. I fancied her too but far from up to it on the day

The form of his close 80/1 3rd at Cheltenham has worked out brilliantly (they were disappointed he didn't win and wished they'd made more use of him) and he has won very easily on both occasions since. His trainer thinks a hell of a lot of him and so does jockey Daryl Jacob. After his last win DJ said he'd appreciate coming back in distance on soft ground and that's exactly what he has today. The plan today is to go off hard in front and make it a real test. Yes he may set the race up for CH but if there is any chink in his armour then Jetoile may find it out as he won't be stopping at race end. EW at 14's is very fair and will give over 100% return for 2nd with the potential of a monster return should he win.

                      • Agree about Jetoile as best of the rest. CH will most likely win Pity there aren't 8 runners. Whizz Kid has good French flat form on soft ground over 1m4f.

That one and Mr Glass both have form of making all over longer trips so suspect it'll be a proper gallop / test today.

As you say, could set it up for CH but with heavy ground there's got to be a question mark. Equally could see him an even wider margin winner mind.

Surprised Aso isn't fav for the veterans race. Form behind Blacklion looks solid enough as that one appears to have found a bit of his old spark. Blacklion got the run of the race that day as well and Aso was clear of the rest. Obviously relying on veterans being consistent is a risk in itself but he's clear best horse in the race and on a feasible mark. Getting out to 5/1 looks more than fair

Aso had been fav for the veterans Chase all week hadn’t he? Took a bit of a walk since yesterday though.

                            Love these races!

Aye, looks that way. Taking the view others have been backed rather than anything untoward on Aso.

Also like these. Not too many old favourites in this one though. Other than Aso

Damn I picked the wrong heavy ground chaser - rejected Jepeck for being too old! Great to see a 13-y-o win a handicap hurdle
