just leaving to go to the course now (stopping in Bishops Cleeve on route) , bets put on yesterday
13.55 - Camprond, Mars Harper S/F
14.30 - Any News
15.05 - Dragon Bones
15.40 - Faivoir
16.15 - Art Approval Mullaghmore Wave
16.50 - Debden Bank Fact of the Matter (EW)
17.25 - Go Dante - took the 5-2 on this, which disappeared very quickly !
TBH i will just be glad to be back at the home of racing
Just the one wild swing for me this weekend:
Clemencia in the 4.15 at 28/1
Both times he's stayed on his feet at Cheltenham, he's been placed. Step up in trip today looks like it should suit.
5th in a Fred Winter which has produced some decent horses who have run well in handicaps since - Langer Dan, Tronador, Thyme White, Night Edition etc
Hoping enough rain has got into the ground for him and I do think the front 4 in the market are the right ones.
Edit - Couldnt have gone better
Also done an ew lucky 15 for interest (sky limited me to 71p per line )
Madera Mist today
Nordic Combined
Cool Mix
Sky Pirate

The 1.55 is a good example of a small field and GB v Ireland. Yes Camprond won the Persian War well and that race has been won by some good horses in the past.
But before that he looked one paced in the finish and has jumped poorly in soft ground (has won on VSft on the flat in France)
Mars Harper has a lower level of form but has won on similar ground and distance and seemed to improve on his last run. Elliott must think it worth while to bring him over.
MH seems better value here.
edit: Thought the ground would be soft but it looks like good. Still had my doubts about Camprond but he seems to like this longer trip but with only one serious opponent what did we learn?

Just a small Patent today for me
Bardenstown Lad - connections from last year help and with nice form, managed to get 5/1 yesterday and seems lots of market confidence for him
Captain Morgs - as mentioned by others he just seems too well handicapped to ignore
Marquis Of Carabas - probably ready into it too much but seems odd Derek's over for one ride only, relying on him being wound up after a long time off though
2.30
I've been impressed by Fidelio Vallis this summer. Third Time Lucki has v good hurdle form but is untried over fences. Sir Tivo seems overpriced
Selection: Fidelio Vallis
edit:
FV's jumping let him down - jumping right
Third Time Lucki was first time lucky over fences: 20/1 for the Arkle!

16:50 - Madera Mist, backing those that have ran here before, particularly at the April meet.
So will also be added in last years winner Bermeowho ran extremely well in April despite being 13lbs out of the weights
Just seen Skelton has been booked on Dragon Bone
Really like this horse last night when reviewing the card, but was concerned about the jockey. Now I'm not. Backing
3.05 3m novices hurdle - quite a few with good winning form and festival chase winner Siruh de lac reverting to hurdles - interesting race
I prefer Calagogo of the Irish challengers. Dragon Bones has potential but is still running green in her races
Selection: Calagogo
Outsider: Siruh de Lac
edit:
Good run by Dragon Bones - no wandering around this time
The market was right about the best Irish challenger though their form was hard to compare. I wonder which of these we'll see in March.
