Was thinking of backing Hitman at Exeter on Friday at 5/2 Antepost
there has got to be a good chance that The Big Breakaway will not turn up here over 2 mile 3 furlongs
particularly after running at Cheltenham just 2 weeks ago over 3 miles plus
even if he does he has to give a lot of weight to a progressive horse who was visually very impressive last time

Comments post race lto, did say he might go down in trip to improve jumping at pace etc I'm thrilled to bits with The Big Breakaway, he travelled and jumped really well. He maybe found it a bit too easy over that trip - he had a little think going away from the stands with a circuit to go. Robbie has said he wouldn't mind dropping him back to two-and-a-half just to sharpen him up and make him think on his feet a little bit. That's food for thought. It was just a lovely performance to come here first time out and jump like that. I can see what Robbie is saying [drop in trip for one run], just to sharpen him up so that when he does get to the festival it doesn't all happen two gears faster. He's finding it too easy so we'll have a think and make a plan from there. Kempton seems the obvious target in my mind but we'll have a look in the calendar and make a plan. We'd probably want a couple of runs before Cheltenham to make sure it's not happening all too easily. His jumping was foot perfect and it has been since day one. If anything he jumped too well. I can't fault him, he popped when he needed to and had a bit of scope when he was asked. For a first run over fences we couldn't ask for anymore and he's got a huge future ahead of him - trainer's assistant and son Joe Tizzard

I like this, Allmankind looked superb on chase debut and there's nothing opposing him I'm too worried about (he is 7/4 in places). Santini is 111 first time up I expect him to win and go off a shade odds on (Sky have him EVS, Hills go 11/8), and I'd like to think Altior @ 80% would account for that lot, and he'll go off more like 4/7 than 4/5.

I like the two at odds against.
The odds on shot is the most vulnerable there for me, however, he is a superstar horse so let's hope I'm wrong.

Don't like many shorties but i'd be considering Finest Evermore for any of these this weekend. She missed the Concertista race last weekend, but we can now see why. Now she is 11/10 for Punchestown on Sunday. Darrens Hope is entered there but also at Cork, she won over 3 mile LTO, and Cork is 3mile, and while its a race open to geldings too, the entries are very poor for it. Sayce Gold is also double entered, trainer Mick Winters is from Cork and won over 23f last time....winning pointer etc. so again likely to stick to Cork you imagine? Also it's a G3 compared to Punchestown being listed.
She has looked very useful so far. The next in the market was 2nd to Gauloise so WPM will know what he has you imagine. Could really cut up this.

Yeh I'm not one for getting carried away on shorties either, I just thought that treble at those prices looked value.
I really really like the look of Finest Evermore Jack, I just can't back her ante post until final dec's because it's WPM. I will add her to the above treble once final decs are in.

Can certainly understand that mate, the thing that gives me the confidence she'll probably rock up is she was entered up last weekend, and is again entered this weekend. So fingers crossed that's a sign of no setback and they want to run her! Though it's WPM and he might change his mind....but it's his only entry!

Yeh it's just a WPM thing. Cannot trust him but I like her as the only entry! That's normally a good sign
I'm really looking forward to seeing Mary Frances setting them a merry dance tomorrow in the 2.30 at Clonmel. Only just got reeled in by The Storyteller last year with 19l back to the 3rd. May not win but I think 8/1 2 places is worth a bet
