  • Al Dancer 9/1 and Siruh Du Lac 20/1 & 12/1 in the big one for me, with SDL being the biggest winner.

No strong opinion on the rest of the card.

"Our"..... do you actually care if the British beat the Irish?

Over the last few years I tend to just assume the Irish are better in every division and it has stopped me getting too lured in by British horses. It should have backed me stopping Hell Red

It'll take an exceptional talent (like Shishkin could be) but horses like Fusil Raffles, Gumball, they'll just get walloped by whatever Mullins' best are.

            Yeah, "our" = GB
I have Shiskin backed, will be looking for a Irish as a saver or value bet

What I mean is, does it bother you.... like, would you cheer on a GB horse over an Irish horse because it's "ours"?

Do you want Shishkin to win the Arkle because he's a GB horse?

Ohh no. No way does it bother me

In the big G1 races at the Fez, I like to pick what I think is the best horse in GB and the best in Ireland, then work out whether Irish or GB has the best form

I have cheered on plenty of Irish horses, whether I've backed them or not

For me, I just think our GB 2 miler novices could be pants again - bar Shiskin who has yet to jump. Irish, I must be honest, I need to sit down and review whats jumped so far over fences (2 miles)

                  Gotcha

Working out the best on either side of the pond is a sensible strategy. My default is always thew Irish are ahead and I'll re-assess when I can. The Triumph last year was one of the times I switched the thinking as I thought the UK hurdlers had the advantage.... in the end an Irish horse won it, so it's not fool proof .

                    • Punchestown 12:05 - Dream Conti @ 13

Off for a year after making a winning chase debut at Cork, so has an absence to defy, but you won't see many jump better (barring last) on a beginners chase debut, it really was quite impressive. Was headed on the run in but kept finding giving me confidence the step up will suit and he was just dossing about in front. Noel Meade is in good form and the horse has been nibbled overnight on the exchanges from 18 into 11.5, so in a thoroughly difficult first race to try and find the winner, Dream Conti is the one I'm going for to get the day off to a good start.

Ran a blinder to finish 3rd and in a few EW multis so fine with that. One to watch for next time for sure

I was being sarcastic, unless you think the good guys are the bookmakers

                                It was horrific
