  • Christmas bet(s)

I have a single Trixie on this Christmas. I know. Not much but most of it is going to be spent watching and making sure my March runners are all coming along ok.

I have a 1pt each way Trixie on the following:

I have Asterion Forlonge to give it a good go on Sunday. Shaping nicely before the fall last time and on at 6/1

I have The Bosses Oscar to go well on Monday in the Paddy Power chase and see his National Hunt Chase mark come in. On at 13/2

I am looking forward to seeing Abracadabras come out to play on Tuesday in the Leopardstown Christmas hurdle. I think a good few of us are on him in the stayers at 33+ and I am desperate to see him show his stuff. On at 7/1.

    Any nibbles you lot?

Got Asterion Forlonge at 25s from a long time back. Can't trust him enough to get too excited about it though.

I've also backed Lifetime Ambition in the Faugheen Chase. Feels like quite an open race and likely Farouk & Vanillier both want a fair bit further. Think the horse has been forgotten a bit after one run, so worth a chance at 9/1 ew.

Went a bit wild a few nights ago and suddenly felt the urge to take APT on in the Savills. Ended up with Kemboy 16/1 ew and Janidil 12/1 ew. Also had a freebie on Delta Work at 12s. No doubt APT will hack up now, but you never know with him...

In the Paddy Power chase, I've backed Le Musigny and Alfa Mix.

Think that's everything. Trying really hard not to back too much the next few days and also not to overreact to the inevitable surprise results that will pop up.

Two for the KG - Chantry House and Frodon, initially was going for Clan and Frodon but as I'm going win only, just have a concern for Clan's first time out record. Maybe I'll do some forecasts on the day
Silver Hallmark in the Rowland Meyrick will probably be added into multiples with above

I would imagine Nicholls has done way more work with clan than for his other first runs

backed Asterion Forlonge at 40s down to 10s, in all sorts of yankees too
Elegant Escape at 33s for the Welsh National
Vanillier at 7s for the 3 mile novice chase.
Will try to get Mighty Potter backed if I can find 3s

Rest of the racing will be a watch, although if flooring porter drifts I might be tempted into a bet.

Had been on since the summer at 25s but for some odd reason Unibet went stand out 40s couple of months back so cashed out the 25s to take 40s. There must have been a few that got stuck because 40s didn't last that long lol.

He was actually as a request a bet at 50/1 which I took a bit of last Christmas. Looks like I placed it on the 30/12/20. At the same time I placed one on Bravemansgame to win the 2022 KG at 40/1.

It's always good when a long range Request A Bet gives you great value down the line (which most of the time happens less often than they don't)

There's a lot of favourites that look pretty solid or are hype horses aren't there, so it's quite difficult to actually find a proper bet.

Going to chance a small play on Tritonic in the Christmas Hurdle though. Think Kempton could be perfect for him, Adonis win was very impressive as much as he didn't beat all that much it was visually where he's looked most comfortable. And there's question marks over the lot of them. 6/1 seems fair enough.

Got Riviere antepost against Ferny so I'll leave it at that at Leoparstown.

And I've got Minella Indo for KG and GC double. KG looks very difficult to find an angle imo. Could make a case for 5 or 6 of them, and none are particularly standout prices so I'll swerve any singles and just take the race in with a view to Cheltenham I think.

Can you do them ew always thought it was straight only?
would be a nice ew bet anyway
