  • Galway Festival 2020

The Galway Plate and Galway Hurdle have their own threads...

This will be a place to discuss the best bets outside of the two main races at this years Galway Festival.

I'm expecting big things as usual chaps

    Dalton Highway 6.45 - 10/1

I assume SW is already on?

Is he rated 96 on the flat, and 120 over hurdles

Would love to see him in a handicap hurdle in November/December, maybe the one at Christmas he won last year.
      Pertemps here we come.

Tanseeq looks to have a great chance in the 5.45 he has a 10lb advantage with Atlas on their previous meeting.

....went for many years, so often been drunk in the Imperial Arms and would highly recommend a visit for anybody who hasn’t been.

Ruby Walsh highlights the Mullins horses:

Don't miss Ruby Walsh's guide to the Willie Mullins team bound for Galway next week, featuring Sharjah and Jon Snow.

From Ruby's list for Galway, the one I'd be interested in going forward is N'golo. Decent form on the flat in France. They've been very patient with him. Could be one for the festival novices. Might look to add in on the TWAR list as he's sure to shorten up if he wins.

Sharjah’s nearly a stone better off at the weights than he was when 4th behind Dalton Highway at the Curragh last time out!

Has course form in winning the Galway Hurdle & 10/3 seems a fair price for me.

I'm sure last year that B365 were very slow to react to big market moves at Galway.
I'm also sure that a lot of them didn't come off.

Although I do recall getting a couple of decent returns off Sheila Lavery runners.

Jockey has a disastrous record in race by all accounts. Not sure Sharjah will appreciate all this rain either......plus, the Champion Hurdle 2nd running on the flat in July....mind blowing!

Patrick has could only have done the weight once on the last 18 winners as his minimum is about 11-2.

It seems that last year's winner, Great White Shark, is 10lb better off with Dalton Highway from last year so has to have a chance but it would be no surprise if the winning trainer is a Mullins that isn't Willie.

Lots of noises for Takarengo at a big price.
