  • Can make a case for most but I played CDO a few days ago and have today added Frodon 3 places 9/2 and 4 places on the fair at around 5/2.
Should be a belter of a race...

    • Its lacking the Irish battalion but you won't get a better race in England before March. Excluding Black Op there are 8 runners rated 163 or higher and 8 horses with adjusted RPRs of 172 to 183

So yeah belter is a great description

      • I've fancied Cyrname for a while now and although most tipsters and fat jockey's prefer CDO, I'm still very happy siding with Cyrname. I just think he is the best horse in the race and there will be no excuses today. I'm hoping I'm right as I have a shit load of very good roll ups on him and then Cheltenham horses.

I'll also be keeping an eye on Saint Calvados as want him to run well but not to the extent that they then aim him for the GC as I have backed him for the Ryanair(owner also has Itchy Feet/Simply The Betts) as I feel he was slightly unlucky last year and will be better than Min this year.

        • managed to get 8pts on at 5/2 using boosts etc.
put 2.5 pts on at 6-1 to win by 5l or more (confident moment )

also in doubles with snow leopard, asterion and blackbow.

saver double on Cyrname & Al boum 22-1.

          Good luck everyone.

Most people would agree this looks a two horse race for win purposes. I’m certainly one of them. Most people would agree Epatante won’t be beaten in the Christmas Hurdle. I’m certainly one of them.

Currently Epatante is 4/9 best priced. Cyrname or CDO to win is best priced 8/13. No way of doubling them though even if we wanted to. That double would’ve paid (if both best prices were with the same bookie) 5/4.

Right.. Paddy Power right now are offering 5/1 about Cyrname and Epatante in a boosted double.

As the defending champion, I’m expecting Clan Des Obeaux to be in the usual ‘on the day’ boosted double across the bookies on Boxing Day with Epatante. The current double for the two at best price is 3/1. I’d expect someone will offer a boost of around 7/2 or 4/1 for the double even. Even if it’s 7/2, that would mean dutching the 5/1 available now on PP for Epatante/Cyrname with the 7/2 on the day double for Epatante/CDO pays 2/1 and 5/4. That’s for the minimum 7/2 double with CDO. I still think there’s a fair chance someone offfers bigger than that.

That’s my plan at 4:58am and I’m sticking to it. Only issue is there’s a max stake for the PP double right now at 5/1 of ?20. Though if you wanted to Dutch at bigger amounts, I suppose we can access other PP accounts.

Level stake means you’re getting 5/4 after Epatante wins for CDO and 2/1 for Cyrname.

Hit me with why this is a bad idea folks..
Happy with this position. Plan has gone well so far.

Also backed Saint Calvados each way at 20/1 (only 3 places though).

Strongest play of the day for me is If The Cap Fots each way at 9/2 (3 places) who is the absolute definition of a perfect bet to nothing. And I think he will win.

            Good luck all.

                    All other jockeys had nightmares.
                    Apart from St Calvados.
Posh boy should have took it up.
Hughes sat off a slow pace.
CDO lost rhythm in his jumping.

                    Credit to the lady jockey.

                    • I bloody love Frodon. He's like one of those bands for me that you like before they're famous and then they make it to a bigger stage and get a bit too mainstream and the novelty wears off a bit, but you still like them enough to buy their albums, you just don't talk about it as much as you used to. I don't know what I'm saying

Unlucky BC.....looked like the winner as they turned in and you certainly couldn't have laid him at that stage finish out of the frame.

CDO looks a solid fav but I do wonder if there might be an upset this year. All small stakes CDO win, Reel Steel (33s antepost), Waiting Patiently (25/1) and Saint Calvados (20/1) E/W. Also done all 4 for combo R F/Cs and T/Cs
Not that sort of upset.... 2nd 3rd 4th
