Anyone got a strong opinion on MORTAL? In my tracker but seem to have gone downhill since the RSA. 147 doesn’t look great but I might have a small interest.

Easy game and The storyteller the 2 for me in the plate tomorrow think they both have great chances, little bit of rain would help aid the storytellers chance even more. Easy game the best form in the book with his 2nd behind faugheen at leopardstown in feb?

Dropped way down ratings now and gets a further 5lbs off his back from jock.
I have come to exactly the same conclusion.
THREE MUSKETEERS will be carrying 10st featherweight, and 20/1 seems far too big.
3 runs for Gordon, on his stable debut won a Grade 3 Handicap Hurdle at the 2019 Aintree Festival and a £42K first prize.
After not travelling well in his next Hurdle race, it led to 14 months off before reappearing over 3M over fences 3 weeks ago and getting boxed-in late on and bursting through to join the winner on the line, still full of running.
It looks like he has been primed for this race, and it was interesting to read Gordon Elliott’s post-race comments in the Aintree winners enclosure after his debut win for the stable:-
Gordon Elliott 5th April 2019
“I'd say a change of scenery has worked for Three Musketeers. In fairness to Dan, he recommended the horse came to me so big credit to him. I was worried that we might be aiming a bit high first time but the owners are from Liverpool originally so it's nice for them. He could be a horse for the Galway Plate - he stays and jumps well” - Gordon Elliott, trainer.
17 months in the planning, having missed last years race through injury.
I considered three of the 11st+ horses:- The Storyteller, Easygame, Galvin, they are all worth their handicap ratings and weights, but on balance it’s usually a race for the lighter weights,
and THREE MUSKETEERS stands out off such a low weight, and a very tidy prep-run.Last edited by Saxon Warrior; 28 July 2020, 11:50 PM."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

Gordon's won 3 of the last 4 runnings of this and it's 15 years since a horse managed to carry 11stone or more to victory.
TM was fourth in the JLT four years ago when trained by Dan Skelton. He was beaten 5 1/2 lengths by Black Hercules with Bristol De Mai in second.
Fast forward three years and TM won a 2 1/2 mile handicap hurdle at Aintree's Grand National meeting last year. The win came just a week after the horse moved to Gordon's yard. He flopped at Punchestown a month later and something was obviously amiss.
He then had more than a year off and only resumed his racing career 10 days ago when he was beaten a nose in a 38k 3m 1f handicap chase at Kilbeggan with Davy on board. He jumped economically and almost got up on the line in the very short finishing straight.
TM was raised 4lbs to 139 for that effort
The last 6 winners Galway Plate winners were rated (last year first): 136, 147,146,145,142,149.
The downside is that TM is now aged ten (2 winners in the last 25 years) but his comeback effort looked very solid and there are worse each way bets at 16-1.

Galvin is down to 7/2 in a place. That is very short but there has been a lot of noises about this horse recently and how connections think he has improved. Maybe he is the perverbial handicap good thing and can go onto better things in the future. Punters seem to think so with his Cheltenham TWAR price bring clipped into 16/1 from 20's this morning with Hills. He's 10/1 with Skybet so even that 16/1 could look value after today's race.
