I've just caught a bit of twitter, what a huge over reaction - when let's face it, no-one really knows what they're looking at

She'll probably get cut on the back of it.
so you don't think she looked well? thought this was a forum of opinions? yet whenever someone shares their opinions they are shot down

      Taken the 33/1...
4th twice in Hennessy and usually J McGrath ride. Could be that its the ride on Maries Rock in the Gerry Feilden that he is staying put for

I didn't say that though did I darlojim

You're effectively shooting down my opinion?

I think she looked good, my thoughts on the matter don't need repeating again though, I'm sure you've read them.

If you post an opinion, and someone disagrees, it doesn't mean it's shot down, it's just another opinion?

If I/we don't comment on things I disagree with, or hyperbole, or over reactions, no debate would happen at all.

You shouldn't take it personally, it doesn't matter who posted it...

          • Having looked through the card again this afternoon, the one that stands out for me is Two For Gold. Matt Brocklebank (Sporting life) has had the winner of this for the last 2 years and put this one up the other week.

Kim Bailey's comments today are slightly concerning, saying that he's 50/50 and will have an entry in the rehearsal chase (from RP). The gist of it was that he thinks this might come a year too soon for Two For Gold. Second season chasers mop up these contests continuously! He'll be a year too late next year.

I wonder how many trainers pay attention to "trends" and how many just go on their gut instinct.

Yea, to which my points are essentially 1. so what does that tell us and 2. people are getting carried away.

Not you are getting carried away. People. I even said on twitter, so make sure I didn't offend anyone

I'm going to take a break from posting for a week.

                • Epatante looked well to me, he arrived with all four legs and as I looked into her eyes, I saw a soul of a champion.... and found she likes carrots

                  Today was very informative

Have to agree with Kev here too big a reaction to a 25 second video to be enhancing one horses claims and dismissing the others.

Epatante looked well, that’s all. Anything more than that and you know something about the game that many on here don’t.

Altior always hits a flat spot and if he is a week behind then would make sense. Carrying more weight we think and also the fact it was the last 2f of a mile gallop then dismissing altior on that is crazy

Not disagreeing that Epatante looked well but far too much being made of it.

Quite like that shout Captain C. Kim Bailey is surely going to run one of them and it will depend how much the race took out of Vindication against Cyrname I suppose. He’ll be top weight as well.

Two for Gold has had a spin over a trip too short imo on seasonal debut, tweet Oli Bell haha is he not part owner?

Gone through the race and he's my idea of the winner and I don't think he'll go off anyway near 10/1. I'm not too concerned about Wetherby as his seasonal reappearance runs in 17/18/19 and now 20 have all been absolutely appalling. For me he ticks loads of boxes:

                        10 of the last 12 winners were aged between 6 & 8 (he's 6)
9/12 winners ran within the last 57 days (last raced 31 Oct so just makes it)
8/12 winners had at least 1 previous run at Newbury (he's won over 3m2f at Newbury)
10/12 winners had at least 4 previous runs over 24 furlongs or further (he's 3 from 4 over 3m+)
11/12 winners had at least 4 previous chase runs (he's run 5 times over fences)
9/12 winners were rated 148 or higher (he's rated 152)
8/12 winners had at least 1 previous win in a grade 1-3 race (he won the G2 Reynoldstown very well)
9/12 winners had at least 1 run that season (he's had a run, if you can call it that)

Good to see another join the copperhead train! I don't get why Tizzard has since said he now is only a" possible" clearly ok despite PU lto(out his depth over hurdles with those lot) so no physical issue and 3m+ chases will be his bread and butter for the rest of his career.

Shit, I didn't know he'd said that. His stable tour made it 100% clear their aim was always the Ladbrokes Trophy and I hadn't heard anything negative post Wetherby and he was blue in the market, so assumed he is fine. Where did you see possibly outlaw?

Joe Tizzard, assistant to Colin Tizzard, trainer of Mister Malarky, Copperhead, Lamanver Pippin and Slate House
Mister Malarky ran well at Ascot the other day and would be our likeliest runner at this stage. Copperhead ran poorly on his comeback but would be a possible runner. Lamanver Pippin would probably have to run out of the weights if he went for it so he may have to go elsewhere. Slate House is set to tackle the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham next week so is a doubtful runner.

I still expect him to run, the blue is probably with a few at the head of the market being pulled in the last 5/7 days.
