Bristol de mai for me 3/1 more than fair

A plus tard always needs his first run

Next destination would prefer a stronger stamina test

I’m not sure about royally pagailles jumping at grade 1 level

    Waiting patiently hates winning

Looks like it’ll be gd to soft, hes won this race on that ground before. This will be his gold cup, it won’t be for the other horses

When I was going through the trends, I'd hoped to make a case for Next Destination but he's missing grade 1 chase form. Him turning up here is a positive sign for Enrilo in the Ladbrokes as far as I can see.

The two I'd come down on were BdM and Native River but ground is against the latter and trainer said he won't run anywhere unless he gets his ground.

Bristol for me, I might back Native River on the day if ground somehow goes in his favour.

No bet race, albeit an enjoyable must watch.

I hope APT wins and all roads lead back to the GC for him.

Me too. I have him for the GC this year. MI was awesome last time but it is APTs year.

Small interest on Bristol De Mai for obvious reasons.

Is it as similar as that?

            - BDM will run up to his mark again, mud will cut the field down to 5 runners?
            - APT will run below his mark, needing the run as per usual?

Bristol, he's 10 year old now and there has to be a time this fella starts his decline to retirement
He pulled up in the National after 21 of the 30 fences. Doubt he was burned out given he over jumped 2/3 of the race, but... have to be a little concerned that he has a PU next to his name. Then again, the yard are actually winning a few races to be fair.

I do think the market has priced these two up wrong. Bristol should be and I expect him to be fav for this race. 3/1 is more than fair

I'd very much doubt The Pig will run as he needs the mud to be flying to bring his A game.

Going to do a tricast as not really a standard bet race but fancy having a little nibble on it. Mainly hoping for a decent race and no fallers

                  1. Bristol De Mai
                  2. A Plus Tard
                  3. Waiting Patiently

In that order. Don't know what the odds are as will likely put it on at a brick and mortar on Friday afternoon...

Went with Imperial Aura at 12/1, looks the value bet for me imo.

Nice timely winner for Kim today after a poor spell, has had the wind op, ground perfect for him, flat 3m (although already proved he can stay at a younger age), runs well first time out.

I'm torn between IA or Next Destination as the value bets. Will probably side with ND.

I had thought ND would prefer more cut in the ground, but note the g/s at Chelts in the NH last year where he was just 1.5 lengths behind Galvin. Definitely needs to improve to be winning, but is the horse in the race with the most scope to do so in my view.

Imperial Aura has the quality and form on good ground. Was a little put off by the yard's form and that Kim basically inferred the horse was overrated on the basis of what he did (or didn't) beat last year. Note the comment above re Kim's winner today though.

Sky has a money back if 2nd or 3rd too.

Bristol De Mai wins doesn't he ? Just owns it around Haydock. Its the course he loves and not the deep ground.

Has anyone heard any comments from Venetia re Royal Pigaille ?
I saw an article a couple of weeks ago where they talked about the injury he sustained in the Gold Cup and that he was now well, if he's wound up for this I think he goes close but every chance they're using this as a legstretch which is a worry...

Watched an interview with her at Ascot today and it wouldn't exactly fill you with confidence.

I'm a backer of him at 10s ante post but don't hold up a great deal of hope.

Very surprised he's running . Went lame in GC on similar ground so you do wonder if he'll remember that bad experience. 2/2 at Haydock though so maybe they think he's a flat track specialist and are just hoping the ground is safe. Not for me though.
