    ew LICKPENNY LARRY 8/1

    Christmas has come early.

ONE STYLE is the odds on favourite but all 3 of his wins came at right handed tracks.
He won off this mark on his first run for almost 2 years and is turned out just 6 days later. Although from a handicap point he is thrown in he is also a strong bounce candidate and may run flat and find nothing in a finish.

A lot of positives for him as well, well handicapped, trainer on absolute fire.

But the bounce risk, the left handed question and the truely heavy ground means although it looks a good thing it could run a shocker and is worth taking on.

Peter Bowen hasnt had a winner for 101 days and 9 of his 10 runners in the last 2 weeks were unplaced.
Cougars Gold Carries top weight and failed to complete in last 2 runs. Still 3lb above his best winning mark and unlikely to be involved today.

SCARTARE was comfortably beat by LICKPENNY LARRY over CD on heavy last time. Although Larry is 5lb higher here Scartare is running from out of the handicap so is only 1lb better off and that isnt enough to reverse form as Larry won very easily and had plenty more to give if needed.

Charlie Longsdons LOUSE TALK has been heavily backed all morning but Longsdon isnt in the best of form with just 1 winner from 24 runners over the last 2 weeks. Louse Talk is higher rated over hurdles than he is fences. He is 0/7 over fences. Not a natural over fences. Was pulled up last time he ran on heavy although he did win on the surface over hurdles. This trip is on the short side and he will do better over 3m+.

Tom Gretton hasnt had a winner for 26 days (9 runs) but hus horses are actually running very well. Most notably Kauto Rico who almost won the peterborugh chase at huntingdon at ods of 100/1 and running a lifetime best.
Gretton has a 50% strike rate with his chasers at Uttoxeter with 3 wins from 6 runners in the last 5 years. He only sends chasers here if they have a strong chance.

LICKPENNY LARRY loves heavy ground, he is a CD winner under todays conditions, he is improving and in form.
His last 3 runs on heavy produced 1-2-1. Unbeaten over CD and only 5lb above win last time. Looked to have plenty in hand last time and should be capable of winning from this mark.

The one horse in the lineup who looks guaranteed to run his race and he will try and make all and is a good jumper. Venetias is the obvious danger though the pair should pull clear of the rest and Venetias could really be feeling it at the finish and not find much.

In his last 10 chases he has won 4 and been 2nd 3 times. Very consistent and progressive. Was 2nd from todays mark of 99 last season when running out of the handicap in a class 3 at Sandown beating higher rated horses such as Darebin. Has improved since then and hard to beat here in this class 4.

Venetias could win easily if coping with this 2nd run so quickly and the left handed track but even in that scenario SUPER LARRY should be miles clear of the rest.
