The Skeltons got the horse last month and gave him his first run for 3 years at Warwick over hurdles, the track suits prominent runners but he was held up and never put in it. He was then turned out quickly for his 2nd run 12 days later over hurdles and never put in it. His initial mark of 112 has dropped 9lb to 103 ahead of this chase debut.
Will be fit now after 2 hurdles runs and he would have needed them having not raced for 3 years. He was bought to be a chaser. Almost certainly extremely well handicapped and will improve massively here fitness wise and for the switch to fences. Certain to have been well schooled. Found an open goal race to start in.
Dan Skelton won with all 4 chase runners he sent to Leicester last season and this is his first chaser here this season. Dan is 8/19 with chasers at Leicester all time thats 42%. The stable is currently in good form. This is the only horse Skelton is running tomorrow.
The 2nd fav is an absolute donkey 0/8 over hurdles and 0/8 over fences. None of the other runners stand a chance.
The fences look the biggest danger here but 15/8 is a great price to complete the course and if he completes the course then he will surely win. Has point to point experience and expected to jump like a stag here.
