Within an hour of posting the price has halved. It was completely stagnant when I posted.
I dont follow the gambles I start them. -
Oregon Gold was well beaten 8th 1st time up last year before winning on his 3rd start over 2m 4.5f at this track over hurdles.
Well beaten on his last 2 starts of the season he again needed the 1st run back and his 1st over fences before being pulled up 2nd time out on heavy ground.
They have managed to get his handicap mark down to 102 and today has an excellent chance of repeating what he did last season and winning on his 3rd run of the season at this track over this trip.
He won off 100 and 107 last year over hurdles and races here off 102. He can jump fences he has proven that in his 2 chase starts and is very well handicapped. Will be fit, loves the track and ground and thrown in.
To top it all off he will race prominently and will probably make all. Almost guaranteed to trade at single figure odds in running. Will set up an in running lay to get my stake back at 10.0 giving me a free win bet at 30.0. The 10.0 may get matched pre race if this money continues.
The fav was raised 13lb for winning 1st time up and assumingly he switched to hurdles because Snowden felt his chase mark was too high. The step up in trip may bring improvement and not imppssible he could win but I fail to see how BATTLEOFSOMME is odds on.
Shintori carries 12-2 and is likely to bounce on this 2nd run back and run below form.
Champion Chase has the form to be involved though lacks fight and is 0/19. Definite chance on form but couldnt trust him.
Glance Back should struggle here.

The horse isnt a 3miler yet ran over 3m+ in 2 of the 4 defeats since the win.
He hasnt lost any ability at all and connections have just been waiting for the mark to drop before taking off the handbrake.
Today this horse will be trying for his life.
The trainer hasnt had a jumps winner for 335 days but its a small yard. There recent 3 NH runners in the last 2 weeks have actually ran very well considering their odds.
4th of 11 at 66/1
5th of 11 at 40/1
3rd of 10 at 14/1
No problem whatsoever with the yard form despite the 335 days since a winner. A small yard plugging away waiting for the right opportunity.
Today they have the golden opportunity to get a winner.

Super ride last time out from Charlie Hammomd. Had Oregon Gold widest of all round market rasens sharp rught handed track.
He was travelling so well that he kept jumping to the lead and Charlie kept tugging him back. The jockey then took him so wide that he was on the rail on the left of the track with the rest of the field clinginging to the right hand rail and the much shorter way round.
Jockey looked a bit worried that he may accidentally end up winning so he pulled the horse up for no obvious reason.
Today we will see a very different ride . A ride where the horse will travel the shortest distance in front on the correct rail and this time when the horse wants to go on he wont be getting pulled back.Comment

Didnt do a straightforecast but did place a late win bet on my 3/1 clear 2nd fav as he drifted like a barge and was 26.0 on betfair.
Got all money back on the valiant OREGON GOLD as well.

SMITHS CROSS is of course just 16/1 for the big Newbury Ladbrokes handicap chase on Friday against a much higher quality level of horses.
Superb on chase debut when only beaten 2 1/2 lengths by more experienced horses. Ran below form next time but they would have been holding his mark for the Newbury race.
He should win effortlessley today and its more like a warm up for Friday than an actual race here. he can win as far as he likes and it wont effect his mark for Friday.
Scudamore has hit fire and is bidding for 3 consecutive winners here.
I should probably cut his 'true odds' to 1/8 but im feeling very generous today so will keep all punters in heaven by offering 2/7Comment
