Already backed two non runners in Santini and Terrefort.

One I have been chipping away at is Dingo Dollar (33/1 ew). He placed in the race last season off a slightly higher mark. I thought he ran a nice race over hurdles in his seasonal opener at that looked like a clear prep run for the Ladbroke.

He looks over priced to me.

Only bet so far is Elegant Escape @ 20/1 (Hills) 4 places which seems ridiculously generous and a standout price. I can't see him out the frame

I imagine there'll be another on here that very much likes him.

I've just taken it myself Charlie and will decide whether to keep it on the day. He'll be 12/1 by mid day tomorrow

I do like him but this is a tougher test than the betfair chase would have been. He is however The Legend and will pass the test with flying colours.

                On Ok Corral at 20-1.
Pretty certain Henderson entered him on my suggestion on here.
But. although I don't generally pay any attention to the working of horses at racecourses.
He looked knackered the other day, just jogging.
Also had small bet on Champagne Classic at 40-1 - Gordon has since said he won't run here, but does seem steady on exchange,

Also think Kim Bailey missed a trick by not running Vindication off his season starting mark.
And the other I liked for this is running today (Discorama) - so cashed that out.
Le Breuil's unlikely to run now as Pauling's busy feeding his horses banana's due to the potassium shortages.
The one I may back if declared is West Approach as this race may suit his style.

I think that forfeit stage is tomorrow (also entries for other races) so probably a clearer picture then.

How confident are we Elegant Escape will run in this?

I’m on Kildisart at 20/1 based on a line of good form throughout his Novice career, and improvement for three miles at Aintree.

Also backed Borice at 25/1, but not convinced he will come over from Ireland.

I thought the same thing about OK Carroll, he looked like the fat school friend struggling to catch the bus in the morning, I don’t know what work they had been doing previous to the tv footage but Beware the Bear & the other Henderson horse were crushing in front in comparison.

I think Elegant Escape is a very big price for a horse that finished 2nd in this race last year of 2lbs lower and had a decent prep run

I find it strange how many people think Elegant Escape will win this but has no chance in the gold cup.

If he wins this off 160 then he is gold cup winner level.

If he has no chance in the gold cup then he has no chance in the Ladbroke Trophy.

Denman was the only horse who carried 11 12 to victory in this race in recent times.

Even when Bobs Worth won this off 160 he only carried 11-6.

The only people who should be backing The Champ here are those who believe he can win the gold cup.

Some huge contradictions from people here who say ilthat Elegant Escape is a good thing here but not good enough for the gold cup.
