Cheers. This is why I post on this forum - to obtain differently views, particularly those that challenge your own. Learn from it, learn from the result and then try and bet the bookies next time
I think differently here. I have always had Honeysuckle as a speed horse, one that prefers weak pace which turns into a sprint. Pretty much all of her races have been like this.
Willie has Sharjah who I believe wants strong pace throughout to get the best out of him. And Mullins has Saint Roi who was most impressive in the country, a race where they go off at strong gallop.... did he come racing up the hill, or did the rest just fall backwards.
PM is too slow nowadays to set the a ridiculous pace up front. Aspire took over those duties last time out. Honey will have no bother keeping up with PM's early pace.
I'm struggling to spot the pace angle unless Mullins decides to send Saldier forward, he has 3 compared to Henry's 1... Mullins lot need to do something different to beat her, I dont think they have the quality alone to beat her but the certainly have the numbers to do it
Good to have opposing views on this. I'm more worried about being wrong than am about Honeysuckle winning LOL
Exactly, if we all shared the same views it would be very boring!
In that vein, she clearly has speed but I don't see her as a proper 2m speedster at all. As Henry said, they went slow enough most of the way in the Hatton's Grace - a speedster wouldn't have been nearly nabbed by Ronald pump IMO.
Brendan Duke is good IMO. I had missed Moyglass Flyer but always a horse of interest given his name. Moyglass is APs hometown so a bit like champ I think they will have saved that for a good one. I know I am no better than a granny backing in the national by colours
I see some of you have backed Saint Rio for county again. Have taken a chance today at the prices but like that thinking.
Monitoring GE’s runners in the first few races, he’s been quiet this season so far... feels like he turn at any point and have a “3-4 timer” at any point soon
I've been to the supermarket and filled the fridge, first beer to be opened at 12pm! DRF, England v Scotland and then Everton to nick a win at Old Trafford.
Todays bets:
1.05: Ashdale Bob 9/1
2.10: Darver Star 11/1 ew
3.15: Saint Roi
4:25: Letsbeclearaboutit 7/1
Backed Darver Star at 11/1 EW, think that’s value. Going forward I’m still not convinced the fav is an out and out two miler come March, though a very classy horse.
