Two horses I'm very interested in tomorrow:
In the cross country the Enda Bolger conveyor belt continues with the JP owned Auvergnat the latest to be a leading player in this sphere.
He made his debut under this code last time in the Risk of Thunder and ran a cracker to finish third and within 5l of fellow connections, Cantlow.
At 6 he can only improve and although the Cheltenham banks differ from the Punchestown course the discipline is the same and identical skills are needed.
4/1 with the dead 8 set to go make this is maximum each way play for me.
Cantlow is a very decent horse who has adjusted well to this code and is a worthy favourite but the value lies with his stablemate.
The future Grand National winner, Perfect Candidate, has his second run of the season tomorrow.
Bitterly disappointing on his reappearance but the market drift that day told me everything, he should strip fitter and goes back to a track where he won twice last season.
I have no contacts in the F O'Brien yard but I'm sure he has one eye on the horses handicap mark, at 147 he gets in the National, a win and rating hike would probably be enough to stop any National bid but if his mark remains around 150 he is guaranteed an Aintree run and would have a chance, so there is a chance he runs for place money tomorrow in what is a competitive heat.
But I can't ignore the 14s....
