KALANE bids to get her chasing career back on track when she lines up at Ludlow tomorrow (1.20) having fallen when still in contention at Doncaster last time. This represents a drop in grade from her latest outing but she doesn’t look likely to have an easy task on her hands as Harry Fry has also declared Bitofapuzzle for the contest. In terms of hurdles form, the mare looks to be up against it as she races off level weights with a Grade 1 winner but she too has had her fair share of jumping issues having unseated Noel Fehily last time. Harry Fry’s mare is likely to be long odds-on tomorrow if the forecasts are anything to go by and she deserves that position on her form to date. However I think Richard Johnson should be able to get Kalane round and with the jumping of both far from bombproof, I would suggest a small win bet.

    KALANE – 1pt win

    been mainly looking at Gowran.

Worth backing the reserves in Thyestes I think.

Martello Tower needs to win too.

      Weights are against MT OV.

In big race cant have Ballycasey, How many chances are we suppose to give him.

Suntiep and Riverside City if he gets in would be my picks.

KALANE looked a natural over fences when making a winning chase debut at Huntingdon last month, and though she was feeling the pinch when falling in a listed event last time, she is expected to get back on the up in receipt of weight all round. Ballyalton probably found the race coming too soon in a hot novice chase at Cheltenham last time and he remains with potential in this sphere.
