Seven stand ground in Saturday's Betfair Chase.
    Ballynagour,
    Cue Card,
    Dynaste,
    Holywell,
    Menorah,
    O'Faolains Boy and
    Silviniaco Conti

Nicholls: "Silviniaco Conti hasn't missed a beat since Kempton and Noel Fehily said the horse felt as good as ever that day."

a £1m bonus cant get a horse over from WPM or Gigginstown. Disappointing turnout.

Can't believe they would consider sending Holywell up there on the ground.
Would love to see O'Faolains Boy get back to the top but the smart money would probably be on Cue Card as it stands....

Silvi Conti would be my pick if it goes ahead.

          CUE CARD

‘Haydock ground does not get as deep as it used to. Cue Card has won on very tiring ground and it is the right race to go for so he will take his chance whatever happens. ‘We had him pretty right for Wetherby. It is the first time he has finished his race so well for a while and he looked back to where he was two years ago. He improved a bit for that run and goes there in really good form. There will be no excuses. ‘He had a pelvis problem and a trapped epiglottis which were sorted. I think it was just a confidence thing with him. From day one this season he has seemed really happy.’

If the ground doesn't get as soft as it used to wouldn't that make Holywell the ew play at 20/1. We're told Cue Card has won on tiring ground, but was that over 3m, SC finished half a fence behind Holywell in the Gold cup and is 5/6, Ballynagour is a glorified handicapper, and Dynaste continues to disappoint, not a great race and I will probably just watch, but there are doubts over all 5 to me, maybe they will all finish joint last, no winner just 5 losers.

I'm looking for all 5 to go, I'll be looking at a proper e/w play on Cue Card at 3s

Hope you won large Istabraq. He has been a brillant horse for connections for along time

                    Had worse days OV !
He seems to have improved hand over fist this year, in a normal year he'd be a short price for the Gold Cup on what he's done so far but this is no ordinary year.
Connections can count themselves unfortunate that they weren't able to find this level of form in the last couple of years given the last two GC winners....

Would have to agree with that Isty, first time he's looked like a proper stayer this season
