True OV but I've watched that race a few times since.
He carried some weight that day and was 4 or 5 off the rails throughout the race so traveled a hell of alot further than most, he was still going OK until he met the 3rd last on a bad stride and put in a short one so lost plenty of distance there, he then met the 2nd last slow which was maybe a symptom of the flight, once his chance was gone Barry wasn't hard on him and he pretty much stopped riding him as they hit the straight.
I was a dissapointing run but I can make excuses on what I've seen, today is another cavalry charge so same issues could reappear but these aren't 4yo they all exposed handicappers, and my bet is on the basis he has most improvement to come than any.
Of course I've been wrong many many times before....

Interesting one for the 5.40 chelt

      1. Air Horse One ……. 4yo G ( Harry Fry )

Successful in a Bumper at Exeter towards the beginning of May in game fashion with only a length or so separating the first four horses home. Like many in this type of event he looked as if the run would do him plenty of good and I firmly believe there will be better to come. That was his only start to date and I’d expect him to take in at least another similar type of contest before embarking on a career over timber. Air Horse One may well stay further in time but for the season ahead I’d visualise a campaign at around the minimum trip. His Exeter win came on a sound surface and only time will tell if this will prove ideal.

There are plenty of interesting types in this and this is definitely one of them, I've take a view on the form of High Bridge's debut where he finished ahead of The Unit and that one went and won the £30k bumper at Newbury just after the festival last season.
Doesn't always pay to read form literally and especially with young horses who can improve plenty in quick time of course....
