Anyone got any thoughts on this race?

    I've backed two so far:

    Big Easy
    Suegioo

I backed big easy for this last year having felt for a long time that he was well handicapped and that the race would suit. Unfortunately he was drawn in the car park, got a bad position early on and never got into the race. He ran a great race in defeat in the ces trail and I expect him to put up a bold showing (providing he gets a decent draw).

Suegioo impressed me when winning the Chester Cup, outstaying Angel Gabriel in the process.. Unexposed at marathon trips he may still be well handicapped.

I've had 2pts ew on them both. Also ew doubled them with vautour for the Arkle, and ew trebled Big Easy with Bronze Angel (won) and Faugheen for the champion hurdle.

Saddlers Rock is some recruit for Jonjo

Upbeat report on The Big easy

Hobbs claimed the prize with Detroit City in 2006 and is hopeful of repeating the win with the Terry Warner-owned seven-year-old Big Easy.

Big Easy is 12-1 (from 14) to improve on his second place in the Cesarewitch Trial at Newmarket last month and Hobbs said: "He might have been slightly unlucky. They did not go that quick and when the pace did finally quicken he was caught a bit flat-footed.

"I have been particularly happy with his condition since then and logically you would expect him to improve for that run. Like [2006 winner] Detroit City, he's a very big horse and he's not had much racing on the Flat so he could well still be improving at the age of seven.

"A bad draw contributed to him running moderately in this race last year and a little while later he had a problem with a hock which caused him to miss most of the jumps season. I've had the race in mind ever since he was eliminated from the Ascot Stakes in June."

Cheers OV. I can't believe the price of the favourite, surely he can't get much shorter.

Tony Martin believes Betfred Cesarewitch favourite Quick Jack is as good as any of his other previous placed performers in the famous Newmarket handicap.
The Irish trainer, who is always respected by the bookmakers, supplied 2007 winner Leg Spinner, and Quick Jack is at the head of the market this weekend after scoring over two miles at the Galway Festival.

The chesnut has also victories at the July course and in a hurdle at the Cheltenham Paddy Power meeting to his credit.

"Leg Spinner won in 2007 then Arc Bleu was second, he was very unlucky and was very free, and Barba Papa was also third. I'd put this horse on a par with them," Martin told RacingFM Live.

"Whether he's good enough to be first, second, third or unplaced on Saturday is another way, but he'd definitely be in the same league as those three.

"I see no reason he won't get the two and a quarter miles at Newmarket and hopefully the jockey will be riding him accordingly.

"He'll track them and have a shot from the furlong pole. Fran Berry has ridden him, he'd be our first choice, and Richard Hughes has ridden him to win at Newmarket. If Fran can't ride, (Hughes) would be keen enough to ride him."
