Gonna take an absolute flier on chesspiece at 40/1 for the gold cup
Only need half a point on at that price so no harm if he flops
He's always looked slow and is having his first go over 2 miles at Sandown tomorrow
He's rated 109, kyprios 117
A very bridgable gap for a 4yo unexposed over staying trips
He wins tomorrow then becomes a real live candidate who fits the profile perfectly
He loses then only half a point down the drain

Have to say I'm struggling to find 4 selections
The bookies are being very tight on prices this year
Feel plenty of us like passenger and mountain breeze
Whilst passenger could go off close to even money if auguste rodin loses this weekend its hard to see much value in mountain breezes price, though she has looked the standout 2yo filly to me
Elmalka and ramatuelle look very fair prices but not sure if the French filly will come over. Il likely put elmalka in and hope opera singer flops like city of troy and henry longfellow did.
Gregory looks solid for the gold cup but doesn't appeal at the prices. Kyprios is way too short at evs given we don't know if he's still as good as he was when winning the race.
Vandeek looked a potential superstar and was miles the best 2yo sprinter. But Jassour and Elite status clearly didnt run their race in the middle park and have proven theyve trained on.
Then we have the Australian sprinter that was suggested, but i know little about the horse and looking at the form shes no black caviar, she's not even near as good as nature strip
I'd say the royal ascot prices are as bad if not worse than the Cheltenham ante post prices. The bookies price these races up like they are NRNB.

Elmalka it is then
Unless someone has a strong opinion that ramatuelle
Elmalka should devour the stiff ascot finish and has only raced 3 times so should still be improving
She won despite being very green and looking like she hated the track at newmarket

Have had a go at a win one and an e/w one
Win Yankee
vandeek 11/4 commonwealth cup
Needs little explanation, miles the best 2yo sprinter and could finally provide us with an actual superstar in the division
Mountain breeze 5/2 albany
Has looked the stand out 2yo to me so far and price has been pushed out since obrein had a useful one win
Passenger 5/2 prince of wales
Looks like a highly progressive 4yo and if auguste rodin flops again this weekend he could go off very short in a paper thin division
Elmalka 5/1 coronation stakes
Big priced guineas winner. Won despite getting badly unbalanced in the dip. Is still raw and you can expect a few more lbs of improvement at a track that will suit better.
E/W Yankee
Qudwah 10/1-12/1 queen anne
Muddling renewal, was very impressed with his effort on reappearance improving his OR by 14lbs. He takes another step forward has to have a chance of hitting the frame.
Elite status 7/1 commonwealth cup
Given a good mention on here, won very nicely on reappearance and was always highly thought of at 2. I prefer Jassour myself and will be putting him in one too but others like elite status.
chain of lightning 8/1-10/1 QE2 Jubillee
UK sprinters are all shite. Not much more needs to be said. This is no aussie superstar but it may well not matter.
coltrane 14/1-16/1 gold cup
Rock solid stayer at this time of year. Poor division no reason to think he won't hit the frame again this year.
Will be playing them at small stakes, there really seems to be very few good horses in training atm
