  • Unfortunately it was a swing and a miss this year for the yankee. I was hopeful we'd pick the winner of every race just not necessarily in the same month but a good effort by all involved, some tough results this year which I wouldn't have picked out if you'd given me 12 months! but still some good debate and suggestions which is what it's all about. Thanks to all that posted, some great shouts early doors and some horses to follow throughout the season.

Hopefully we'll hit the board next year

Tbf though they were packable in the build up to the race picking notable speech or elmalka months in advance would've been virtually impossible

As you say, some great shouts but hard to believe we missed considering how many 1st, 2nd & 3rd favourites we ended up with

          • We will need to do these again but hard to look past The Lion In Winter and Ancient Truth currently, the Dewhurst should sort those out. Lake Victoria and Desert Flower for the 1000 also.

Saying that I'm guessing Ancient Truth has an issue with the supplement of Shadow Of Light in the Dewhurst

Lion's looked good and I think he'll win the Dewhurst but then what price for 2000? 7/4? Could he be another of Aidan's that dissapoints in the Guineas first time out then romps the Derby?..

Time will tell but if he does go even shorter as antepost Guineas fav that should leave some value elsewhere and I'd happily take him on if that's the case.

4/1 after a Dewhurst win and through until March then yes but that will be long gone next week you'd have thought.

Could be, it's been noted that Aidan has been training them differently to peak in the season rather than at the start.

He's bred to be a Derby horse also so surely stays The Derby trip.

Winning over 7f at 2yo can only be a good thing also.

If he wins the Dewhurst he'll be no price for sure as there's not much showing against him, colts have been poor.

                  • Aidan sounded shocked how easily Shadow of Light put away his hot pot last time. He looked ultra impressive. The fact he's been supplemented for the race says a fair bit and if the rain keeps coming it'll suit him much more than Lions who floats over decent ground. It'll be a very interesting watch.

                      • Shall we get one on before the BC with some bookies having the Kentucky Derby and Oaks priced up?

I like the look of it on paper. Who would you be for in the guineas though? Ancient Truth or Shadow Of Light?

I would be up for either tbh… I’ve only backed AncientTruth ante post but was impressed with Shadow of Light in the Dewhurst… saw the trip out well and was doing his best work at the finish

                              • Let's see what others think as a collective. You'll want to be getting the BC winners to get value.

Lake Victoria runs in the BC so could shorten if she wins also.
