Interestingly, their 2nd futures pool opens on Thursday, Nysos isn't listed but they can also back the winning sire,
    Nyquist is 80/1
Be shipped off to tim yakteen in the next few weeks I'd say

KARAKA MILLIONS NIGHT - SAT 27th JAN

Ellerslie hosts the Karaka Millions night which looks set to be a great card of races. It's attracting some of the top jocks from Australia in J-Mac, Jamie Kah etc.
Ellerslie opened it's doors last Sunday after 2 years of renovations with 6 races to test out the new track, it's quick! Legarto was the star of the day and she didn't disappoint, she'll be back in the Aotearoa classic.

Only two other races available to punt ante post at the moment or wait until nrnb, both very open but for this post I'm concentrating on the 2YO race, so thought I would put this on.

        Karaka Million 2YO

Te Akau/Fortuna are attempting to win this for the eighth consecutive time. I think based on this stat alone it might be worth a few doubles darts. They might start a handful of runners but these are the obvious two I like. Neither have jockeys booked yet but I would be very happy with Opie Bosson and Warren Kennedy.

        Cool 'N' Fast @ 3/1

        Bellatrix Star @ 4/1

          Maymun @ 33/1 Kentucky Derby

Time for Bob Baffert to unleash the beast...In a pretty tough looking debut.

Been waiting a long time to see him on the track.

We all know the score with the Bob Baffert ban but I'm still going to take the risk on this monster

                Cheer Zach

Cruises a half mile in just under 44, crushes the field whilst making it look sooo easy, RIDICULOUS!!!

Fingers crossed he tranfers barns and stays fit.

Without following his ban and the Kentucky Derby the last few years, please can you explain how transferring to another trainer for the race would happen (and how likely you think it is)? Would it be like Gordon Elliot's horses at Cheltenham a few years ago? Thanks!

Okay, this is how I think it works & I'll try and keep it simple.

So Churchill Downs have set the transfer date for January 29th.
Any owner that has a horse in training with BB and would like to go for the Derby will literally have to transfer & send that horse to a nominated trainer. Once with that trainer, BB cannot have any input/control whatsoever. Also, any points won would have to be won under the nominated trainer's name.

Chances of it happening? No idea

I think the existing owners are very loyal to BB and might just want to stick two fingers up at Churchill Downs and concentrate on other races

However, if they've got a Kentucky Derby hopeful, it's a possible once in a lifetime chance to win the biggest race in the U.S. Even though IMO that chance isn't as strong with a different trainer.

Zedan sent Taiba to Yakteen 2 years ago and Yakteen and BB are essentially best friends as he used to be assistant trainer under BB, so I wouldn't put it past it happening, they also do have Muth

IKR Zachx02 but it hasn't worked out too well previously and Zedan might be getting pissed off with CDI...who knows.

Cool 'N' Fast drawn 4 now out to 6/1. Opie is riding him so if he's good enough for Opie he's good enough for me

Bellatrix Star drawn 6 now into 3/1. Warren's got the ride.

Here's the latest from trainer Mark Walker
