Aftertime wanker here but I've never really rated fierceness, thought the BC Juvenile run was a bit of a fluke. Seeing people blame the first 2 furlongs there but if he was a KY winner in waiting he would be winning against that field with ease really

Yeah absolutely agree, he should have handled that field with ease if he was a top Derby prospect. I was a fan and excused his second run due to sloppy track and him not getting a good path through the race but he just has too many question marks now. To come anywhere near winning the Derby he'd need to break best, not get bumped, have an uncontested lead and be 2 lengths clear on the home turn. Just not going to happen realistically. He's got the talent but just can't trust his consistency and attitude now with two awful runs.

He's finally up at 14s, very annoying considering would have been much bigger before the weekend, but I think it's still a good bet, looks by far the best 3 y/o and a beyer of 105 on his 3rd start is just full on ridiculous, he'll be going in a lot of multiples with cheltenham 2025 horses when the markets open

Maymun out tonight at Santa Anita over a mile for his second start. Another Baffert who looked all class on debut.

Enjoyed that MP, he played that funky back end out manoeuvre again but nice to see him put under some serious pressure by Imagination and show a lot of fight to come back for the win.

It'll be fascinating who BB best is further down the road.

Yeah I thought it was a good run for only his second start, still has his quirks and looks a bit babyish still but imagination is no slouch so was good to see him dig deep and go up the rail to fight back as I thought he was toast after they came round the bend. Think Prat caught Hernandez a bit unawares as well, would like to see if he can sit off the pace to prove his versatility when he stretches out and learns to settle but all in all a good run to stay unbeaten.

Nysos still the most impressive Baffert as of now but Maymun looks to have loads of improvement in him. I've been using the hills double odds boost to get him at 80/1 for the BC on the chance he turns into a rock solid candidate over his next couple of starts.

Potentially Maymun goes to the Blue Grass and Nysos to Santa Anita Derby next time out.

Winner of the Risen star tonight probably goes fav, will be interesting to watch. Not a fan of track phantom or Hall of fame due to asmussens record in the derby so sierra Leone for me

Came wide off a tame pace and won it well in the end, handled the slop and I'd have him over Dornoch too.

12.22 final furlong after being took out wide on a sloppy track, big contender. Got him in a muggy SP fav and Derby bet for 2 pts at 72.5/1, aftertiming I know but did say I think he wins to be fair!

Zachx02 Monty's Pass parimutuel I'm liking the American racing content from you all to which I have zero knowledge of. How come the prices are still good unlike the guineas we have?

I'd say due to lack of knowledge but not really sure, the way it works over there is they have qualifying races and you earn points in them to try and get into the derby then the runners in the race will be the 18 with the most points that wish to run. Lack of liquidity probably plays into it too
