Originally posted by Morley Street View PostGreat racing all round last night, including the Frankie factor! and a very impressive performance from Sierra Leone…
so how do folks see the Derby picture now IF the real Fierceness turns up? Potentially a great clash of the tortoise and the hare… I think I’d have to slightly favour Fierceness on the basis you’ll know your fate early, whereas with SL he’ll need a smooth passage?
Sierra Leone won that with ease, the further they went the easier it was for him and still looked to have plenty left in the tank
Fierceness = 110 Beyer - No one's got close to that
I still like the look of Forever Young, versatility is his asset as he has shown he can stay up with the leaders or close and has the heart of a lion
Stronghold must be in the frame now. Never out of the top two. Beat Imagination who gave Maymun a good run for his money
Special mention for Just a Touch who was well beaten by Sierra Leone. The K Derby might still come too soon for him but yesterday's brave effort in the Blue Grass was only his third race
Looking to be an open Derby with plenty of quirky runnersLast edited by parimutuel; 7 April 2024, 10:31 PM.

Whilst they are closer on equibase figures with Sierra Leone getting 107 whilst Fierceness got a 110 there also

So, in simple terms, a Beyer rating tells you who has run the fastest full stop and an Equibase rating adjusts the picture based on a number of different variables. Both are useful in context imo.

Delius - 20/1 Prix Du Jockey Club
“Delius is a nice horse, who will develop into a good middle-distance prospect,” commented trainer Jean-Claude Rouget. “The more we advance through the season, the better he will be. He quickened really nicely and won well, so that is most encouraging.”

Agree Zach… do you know if he’s been committed to the race… I know they were strongly leaning that way but the Irish Guineas was also mentioned and I haven’t seen any comments since the gallop the other day?

The Zedan-CDI case over if muth can run verdict is today i believe, if they rule in favour of Zedan and I think they will, he's 25/1 on sky. I will post about the verdict as soon as I see it and if he is allowed to run, that will be a big big price.
Edit: my bad, looking like Wednesday but you'll hear it first here!Last edited by Zachx02; 15 April 2024, 08:25 PM.

And rosallions dam sire is new approach
If it's good ground or quicker can see him giving the fav plenty to do.
He's a lot better than any of the horses city of troy has beaten so far. His bare form is modest.
