Also. It is SO odd seeing Vauban being lined up for a flat race after all that jumping. 7/4 is a crazy price though and I would sooner have second fave Dettori on Absurde (Stable mate) at 5/1.
Flat campaign has long been on the radar for Vauban. Already a winner on the Flat in France.

Should be a good watch. Was only a free bet so not precious.

Cadillac looked a new improved model last time

Was his first start on quick ground since a gelding operation and he showed a superb turn of pace

He's of interest depending on how much rain they get

Francesco clemente could still be much better than this grade

Neither of those have a 3lb penalty either like buckaroo and a few others

The one I don't like is saga he is allergic to winning

It is though only a race I will be playing in if iv had a winner or two from the first 4 races

The thing worth noting about modern games is that Appleby was in crap form when he won in the Lockinge

But he's back firing in the winners now

So he may have even more in hand than the Lockinge showed and this stiff mile will suit a strong finisher like him perfectly

But again you'll be hoping they dont get a shed load of rain in the morning for him

Having a read of the handicaps proper now, in the ascot stakes calling the wind caught me eye, very consistent performer and form at ascot reads 1223, i've had my paddypower free bet on him

Absolutely buzzing about the upcoming racing as there's some serious quality this week not to mention all the punting opprtunities.

For my multiples, I hope Modern Games, River Tiber and either Highfield Princess or Coolangatta wins. For the handicaps, here's what I've backed and nice to see some of them have shortened.

17.00 - Law Of The Sea / Calling The Wind
                17.40 - Buckaroo / Royal Champion
                18.10 - Ruling Dynasty / Point King / Chillingham

I absolutely love solving the handicaps so at least 1 win would make my day!

For Wednesday, I've already backed the below for the Royal Hunt Cup.

17.00 - Ghaly / Blue For You / Astro King / Point Lynas

                Good luck everyone!

Aye, Cadillac or Bolshoi Ballet would be my picks if I had to. The 11 top rated (of the 15) are rated within 3lb of each other though. And the favourites not even one of them. It's the kind of race I know I'm best avoiding!

Few Calling the Wind fans coming up. Maybe I won't get my 14s

Love Royal Ascot, hopefully this year is as kind as previous ones. As always I pretty much bet in every race, more for fun than anything else, so my complete Day 1 bets are:

                      2.30 Modern Games 2/1

                      3:05 Bobsleigh 16/1 E/W & Zoulou Chief 80/1 E/W

                      3:40 Highfield Princess 5/2

                      4:20 Paddington 11/4

5:00 Bring On The Night 2/1

                      5:35 Cadillac 10/1 E/W

                      6:10 Ruling Destiny 4/1 E/W & Absurde 7/1 E/W

I wonder how many losers I can muster up out of that lot

Have 2pts ew on Asadna at 6s when Hugh Taylor put him up
have 0.5pts ew on Raymond Tusk at 66s when Tony Calvin put him up

My only bet today other than those is Paddington at 11/4, 2pts

Really detached from flat form, and have a torrid Ascot record (even the day I had every single winner is a infamous losing story in my household) so keeping it small and to what I've seen/voices I trust

                          Based on what?

Absurd wouldn't get within 20l of Vauban in a Hurdles Race

I'd imagine based on their flat form in France.

Both rated 46kg in France on the flat, albeit Absurde has run more times than Vauban. There's little to say either would be superior on the flat than the other at this stage, IMO, so at the prices I could see why Absurde could seem a better 'value' bet.

Heavy rain at Ascot. 10mm in an hour. Going expected to ease.
