That coronation Cup looks like a very poor renewal

I'm not the greatest Flat fan but do watch the real quality meetings. Haven't seen such confidence coming from Stoute like he has for Derby fav Desert Crown. He's normally a proper pessimistic so and so. That in itself tells me he's something special.
The same sort of confidence is oozing from Frankie re Oaks fav Emily Uphohn. He's talking about her in same breath as Enable at the same stage of her career. Sounds like there's no point looking beyond those two as the winners.

The oaks doesn't look a strong race and emily upjohn should take plenty of beating

Don't like the jockey on Desert Crown though that's likely mitigated if DC is a machine.
Is this the last year a colt by Galileo can win the derby or did the sly old dog manage to get his leg over to produce a two year old for this season?
If it is his last batch this year, hoping Star of India or Changing of the Guard can do him proud at their odds.

So you'd be hoping it doesn't get as soft as it has in recent years
I'm still a little bitter about last year, tarnawa was a shoe in on decent ground
The winner torquator tasso finished 6th of 7 in a german group 2 on sunday, literally none of his form puts him close to tarnawa or hurricane laneLast edited by FinalFurlong91; 31 May 2022, 10:04 PM.

Frankie on Emily Uphohn at York......
“The ground is a lot deeper than you guys think. Everybody was struggling from four furlongs out and I kept her together and from two-and-a-half to the winning post, I didn’t see another horse.
“She won in good style by five and a half lengths – what more do you want? We never had any worries about staying a mile and a half.”
Dettori ranks Emily Upjohn favourably among his previous Oaks winners, adding: “She’s getting there. Enable won at Chester and at this stage she was probably on the same par.
“With every race this filly is improving, we’ve liked her since day one and I’m delighted – we can sleep nicely tonight!”

Arc de triumphe
Vadeni 8/1
Al Hakeem 33/1
Pulled the trigger on Vadeni and just a small bet on Al Hakeem too
Thought Vadeni was just as impressive as Desert Crown was
given the dam side of his pedigree 1m4f should pose no problem and being French trained the rest of his season will surely be built around peaking for this
Al Hakeem but more of a hail mary but he was well backed today but lost any chance at the start, missing the break and ending up right at the back. He steamed home into 4th and I’m hopeful he wins nicely next time out and makes that look a massive price
Like his pedigree too being a siyouni out of a galileo mare like sotsass and st marks basilica
