Mostahdaf 6/1 Prince of Wales stakes is my next one

This doesn't look a strong division to me at all and is wide open to an improver like Mostahdaf

He is bred to just keep getting better and better being by Frankel out of a Dubawi mare and I can see him being rated 120+ by the end of the season

Only has one defeat on his CV which was when he was badly impeded at royal ascot last year hopefully he runs here and gets a bit better fortune

Judging by the market its shahryar the form of that meydan race looks dubious at best so happy to take him on

Any thoughts on Perfect Power staying the mile in the Guineas?

I'd say it's pretty unlikely he will stay strongly enough to win

According to matt chapman the first thing soumillon said to fahey the other day after he got off him was that the horse is a sprinter (Chapman said this on the at the races flat preview)

Fair play. Just looked up his post rates quotes and reading between the lines he doesn't sound particularly confident of staying does he. So possible he did say something like that privately.

I always thought of him as a sprinter last season but looking back through his pedigree and there's bits and pieces of stamina (to my untrained eye).

Just looking for an e/w play in the race. Will wait for decs though and see what else is down the order somewhere!

If anyone can smuggle him through the race it'd be soumillon tbf

Seen some quotes about Golden Pal and Campanelle and I'm trying to share them as I think they may be of interest to some people
am looking at a couple of things from his run at York. Firstly, he ran a big race at Churchill Downs on his comeback last year and that was five weeks beforehand. I know five weeks is a nice gap for you guys but, for me, a longer spacing with sprinters works better. If I come back too quick, it usually stings me as a trainer. A lot of trainers are able to do it, but my whole career I have never been able to do something like that.

Golden Pal leads U.S. contingent in Royal Ascot nominations

Sixteen U.S. horses are among nominations for the eight Group 1 races at Royal Ascot, to be run June 14-18.

Wesley Ward's customary contingent will be led by Golden Pal in the King’s Stand Stakes.

Golden Pal had several European raiders behind him when dominating from the front in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint in November, and the 4-year-old made a sparkling comeback in the Shakertown Stakes (G2) at Keeneland on April 9, bolting up by almost five lengths.

Ward said: “Golden Pal is doing great, he really is. I have been singing this horse’s praises for a couple of years now, and the only thing he hasn’t done yet is win on your patch. Hopefully, he can get it done.

“It was a powerful performance from him in the Shakertown. But it was a comeback, and I really think his next run is going to be something special. He is a once-in-a-lifetime horse – certainly the best I have ever had – and I think he will stamp that with his performance at Ascot if he runs like I am expecting him to.

“Physically, he is an awesome specimen now, and mentally he is really coming into his own. I am just so excited to get him back over there.”

Since a near miss at the Royal Ascot meeting as a 2-year-old, Golden Pal's only loss came in last season’s Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York, when he finished seventh behind Winter Power, much to his trainer’s bemusement.

Ward explained: “I am looking at a couple of things from his run at York. Firstly, he ran a big race at Churchill Downs on his comeback last year and that was five weeks beforehand. I know five weeks is a nice gap for you guys but, for me, a longer spacing with sprinters works better. If I come back too quick, it usually stings me as a trainer. A once in a lifetime horse every year just before Ascot

In fairness, I like listening to WW, means Royal Ascot is around the corner

If ascot was a flat track he'd have so many winners it's not funny

How many of his speedsters get nabbed in the last 75 yards up the stiff finish even at 5f
