  • The Arc stall draw has just finished, as follows:

    1. Mendocino 2. Vadeni 3. Do Deuce 4. Al Hakeem 5. Deep Bond 6. Alpinista 7. Westover 8. Luxembourg 9. Grand Glory 10. Titleholder 11. Onesto 12. Alenquer 13. Bubble Gift 14. Broome 15. Sealiway 16. Mostahdaf 17. Mishriff 18. Torquator Tasso 19. Mares Australia 20. Stay Foolish

    • I've now added Vadeni based on the draw. Lot of single figure winners/placed horses in the past few years.

Unfortunately my two early bets seem to have got unfavourable draws, nevermind!

      • TT won from 12 last year but 18 does sound a big ask. Although I'm not completely sure the draw trend is as strong as it once was...

        • Stay Foolish in stall 20 is just funny, has no place in the race and gets given the worst draw whilst even though she hasnt been that great in europe an 11 time group 1 winner verry elleegant cant get in the race

            12 and lower I'd be happy with. 15 & 18 is brutal

I'd almost rather be where torquator tasso is than luxembourg

Stall 1 on a front runner is perfect, luxembourg could very easily get serious trouble in running

Edit badly miss read something there

15 doesnt have that bad a record, 18 on the other hand https://twitter.com/Timeform/status/...BuIDQCQow&s=19

                • Stall 18 has only existed for 4 of the last 10 Arcs. Not too surprising it's got a worse record...

Yeah, them outside 3 are awful. One of the 3 from stall 15 was Treve, and that's been the widest stall win from the past 9 runnings of the race, I believe.

Golden Horn from stall 14 in the past 7 runnings, but that was a seriously good ride from Frankie, that day.

I make it 5 from the last 9.

2013 - Al Kazeem finished 6th, but was 16/1 for the race

2014 - Chicquita finished 15th, but was 40/1 for the race

2015 - Spiritjim finished 12th, but was 100/1 for the race

2017 - Zarak finished 10th, but was 28/1 for the race

2018 - Defoe finished 15th, but was 40/1 for the race

Overall not really a well fancied horse among them lot, so can probably defer the 'wide stall' stat for a little while as more evidence is required. Maybe still some hope!

                      • Fair play. Must have been non runners on the day in 13 and 15 as I was just basing it on number of runners...

But yea, I don't think the trend is as strong as it first seems.

4 of the last 9 winners have come from stall 12 or higher.

And golden horn was a 130 horse as was treve

I know this will be of interest to some Members here. Hopefully a decent price.
Opened 15/8 on 365, I've had a go on it expecting odds to shorten overnight

                            • Platinum Queen declared for the Abbaye. Was hoping they'd take her out to be honest. Backed Bernuil couple of weeks back but been drawn in 18 as well, so that's seen to that. I'm having a low draw as being even more important here. Looks like they'll be loads of pace on as well, so having a look through now to get something else on side! Not historically a race for favourites is it

                              • If the platinum queen breaks well and gets to that rail from draw 7 she will be very tough to catch
