Van Gogh @ 27/1 EW (boost Betfair)

AOB Stable Tour: He’s done unbelievably well over the winter and we are very happy with him. He’s grown into a big powerful horse. We got loads of experience into him last year and his mind is very good. He’s working like a horse that has enough pace for a Guineas, but his profile would suggest he could stay a mile-and-a-half. He’ll definitely prefer better ground.

Seamie Heffernan post Curragh - He's a gorgeous, big horse. I'd say there could be an awful lot of improvement in him because of his size and he feels weak. He's been running well and coming out of his races fresh. There could be a lot of improvement in him with time.

I thought it was interesting that Santa Barbara has been smashed off the boards for the 1000G after AOB said she had done 'unbelievably well' over the winter - the only other horse AOB gushed about in a similar manner was Van Gogh, who remains a big price.

It's very encouraging to see AOB say he'll prefer better ground because he demolished a very good field on heavy ground to win his first Group 1 at Saint-Cloud LTO.

He's been to Newmarket and met loads of trouble in running coming from last to finish 2nd to One Ruler. It's good course experience.

Wouldn't put anyone off backing Highland Avenue @ 50/1 EW for this. I've backed 100 down to 40 and really like him. He comes under the radar but is going his winning hands and heals on the AW. Racing tomorrow, expect him to run well and price to completely go.

Interesting that AOB said Battleground might skip this and go the Curragh or France with him.

He also gave good mentions to St Mark's Basilica and Wembley too.

I am all over Wembley for this. In the Dewhurst 2f out he's last, forced wide and pushed right, comes round the field and finishes a close second on ground softer than he'd probably want. At the Curragh he's held onto 2f out, Wayne then meets a wall of horses, he's forced wide and then picks them all off barring Thunder Moon who got first run.

On paper he had a bit of the bridesmaid never the bride season as a 2yo but christ, if there was a horse to take out of the Dewhurst and Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes it was Wembley NQAT.

On at 10, 9 and 8. Think he has a rip roaring chance here

If you had to start now and could only pick one, which would it be?

Wembley looked unlucky in the dewhurst but there's nothing between them on 2yo form be impossible to pick

I'm not sure if there is a section for flat racing "To win today and..." but I saw a couple today
Royal Champion to win the Feilden and 2000GNs - 40/1 - Hills
Duke of Mantua to win 14.10 and 2000GNs - 80/1 Sky

Andy Holding put Mithras up at 50/1 back in Sep-19 on the back of debut where fluffed start but made up miles quite impressively. Got beaten odds on next time out (dwelt again at start) in a C5.

Got first win under belt in a class 5 at Newcastle with a better start in November at 5/4 - and is entered up this Friday at Newbury in a class 2. Will be keeping an eye out to see how gets on. 40/1 is still widely available.

"I'd love to run four in the Guineas if I thought they had a great chance, but I don't want to lose this horse in trying to roll the dice with him because there are big races to be won for sure."

While Master Of The Seas and La Barrosa go on Guineas trial on Thursday, Appleby revealed that Group 1 Vertem Futurity runner-up One Ruler is heading straight for the 2,000 Guineas on May 1.
