....I like Mahale in the Albany simply because Channon usually has one for Royal Ascot. Bits of blue for it on Oddschecker, stepping up in distance after fast finishing on debut.

Day 4 - Friday - Royal Ascot 2020

Another good day today which guarantees a weekly profit. Shade unfortunate with Waliyak in the last. She could have done with some company but swings and roundabouts on track position. Today they clearly didn't want the stands side.
The last two days looked the worst from a betting point of view at the start of the week and they still do.
1.15 I might have chanced Art Power at 20/1 in an ordinary Commonwealth Cup but he makes no appeal at this price.
1.50 & 2.25 Easy leave alones. I would have preferred to see Admiral Nelson in the Norfolk.
3.00 Defoe EW. A reproduction of last year should see him competitive but given the pluses he has been ominously weak in the market.
3.35 A competitive, but ordinary looking renewal with no obvious standout.
4.10 Al Dabaran (Win). Trip should be fine but has taken a walk, presumably on account of the ground.
4.40 Had backed Hereby and disappointed she didn't get in. Even more disappointed if two are taken out tomorrow.
No best of the day. Any return would be good

Clawed my way back almost level... 25 points down but with 24 open
13:15 - Art Power 5.25/1 (doubled with Stradivarius) and City Walk 20/1 (5pl)
13:50 - Golden Melody 5/1
14:25 - Eye Of Heaven 4.75/1 (doubled with Stradivarius)
15:00 - Hamish 11/1 (3pl)
15:35 - Golden Horde 16/1 (Backed 29th April)
16:10 - On Guard 14/1 (3pl)
16:40 - Durston 13/2 (5pl)
Also, a treble on Stradivarius, Art Power, Eye Of Heaven
In contrast to the previous 3 days, I'm unlikely to add much more to the above. After Stradivarius won today I'm nicely set up for some decent wins tomorrow from the ones I like the most. Hugh managed to put up 4 selections in the 3 races I didn't have a bet in, so that happened.
Going off On Guard a bit and 5/1 on Al Daraban is probably going to make it's way in to my plans actually, I know a few people are keen and as I'm writing this I see KB has put it up too... can defintiely see the case!
Good luck everybody for FridayLast edited by Kevloaf; 18 June 2020, 05:43 PM.

Picture the scene lads.. a furlong to go and De Sousa comes there absolutely swinging on Art Power. One by one they’re all off the bridle and he’s still sitting with a double handful on the good thing out front. Suddenly Silvestre presses the button with a furlong to run and he absolutely bolts away from them in the style of the Group 1 sprinter he will soon be known as. 2 lengths clear.. 3 lengths clear. ‘This is a procession from Art Power - what a performance’ screams Simon Holt as the whole of the racing world turns into Stradivarius pre-race yesterday.

Good morning all, bit of a blood bath for me yesterday. Wednesday was a good day, with Sir Busker & Dark vision in a tidy double. Hoping for a good run from Imperial Force in the 14:25. Doubled with Creative Force Running tomorrow, who’s form would take a boost if Doyle can get to the line in front today.

Couldn't resist a speculative each way punt on Eagles By Day at 100-1 (Lads with odds boost) in the Hardwicke.
It's tipped up in The Times by Rob Wright who does come up with the occasional left-field belter.
Here's what he says: "The market leaders look vulnerable here and Eagle By Day, an 80-1 chance with Ladbrokes, looks worth risking each-way.
"He stayed on strongly when third in the King Edward VII Stakes at this meeting a year ago and, a son of Gold Cup runner-up Missunited, the more testing conditions here should see him in a better light.
"He has a lengthy absence to overcome but the booking of Danny Tudhope is a positive and he could outrun his odds.
"Elarqam is favourite after being beaten just a short head by Lord North at Haydock but this longer trip and softer ground might make this too much of a test for him."
Decent course form, a working man's price and the sort of stamina-sapping ground which produces shocks.....what could possibly go wrong?Last edited by nortonscoin200; 19 June 2020, 10:30 AM.
