Ah, that somehow had passed me by, nice write up, better than my effort, or lack of one

Fingers crossed for a good run now!

Haha thanks, perhaps not the most likely winner by any stretch but I'd have had him quite a bit shorter in the market. There are an awful lot of hyped up handicap favourites this week and I'm determined to get most of them beat

Small bet on Bright Devil 9/2 for this race too now.

Not a lot interests me tomorrow so staking small. Strad just wins doesn’t he? I’m interested in Monarch dropping back down in trip, so I’ll play him for a win bet.

                Week stats after Day 2:
                Total Stake - 147.1 pts
                Total Return - 94.5 pts

                Profit/loss - -52.6 pts

                Total Open - 33.3 pts

So I actually am slightly worse off at the end of today than I was yesterday.
Of the open bets left, running tomorrow I have:

                13:15 - Highland Chief 18/1 (5pl)

                13:50 - King Ottokar 33/1 (4pl)

                14:25 - Mystery Power 20/1 (5pl) and 14/1 (4pl) and Lord Of The North 9/1 (4pl) (available at 14s now)

                15:00 - no bet yet

15:35 - Stradivarius 5/1 and 2/1 (doubled with Battaash on Tuesday and Russian Emperor on Wednesday)

                16:10 - Finest Sound 5/1 (6pl) and Great Ambassador 33/1 (6pl)

                16:40 - no bet yet

There won't be many bets for me tomorrow.

As mentioned, I've already backed Yoshimi in the first and the only other race I'm keen to get involved in at this stage is the Wolferton but it all hinges on the ground. If a few of these showers arrive I will really like King Ottakar at 20s. I see you've beat me to it on that one Kev and if I could get 33s I'd be taking it now, but given the price has already contracted I think I'll sit it out til morning and see what the weather does.

If the rain misses Ascot then I think Regal Reality is a cracking price at 6/1 - but he wants the ground quick so again is a no bet at this stage. This race has plenty of quantity but not a huge amount of quality so 6s is huge for a horse who is properly Group class and could flourish this year as a 5yo. The 2 Gosden runners could be dangerous but I couldn't split them as I thought Frankie might pick the other one, so that's thrown me and leads me to think Crossed Baton must be better than he's shown so far. I'm quite happy to take on the top 2 in the market at the prices.

The trainers are in good form and I believe they rate this horse much more than just a 101 rated handicapper. The 20s with Corals and 18s with BV are silly. Sky are 10s and PP are 12s.

                    2.25 - Monarch Of Egypt
Didn't have a hard race in the Irish 2000g where he was squeezed for room on the inside rail which lost him his chance. Would have been interesting if he had been able to get through and this drop in class and trip offers him a great chance at a decent price(8s) IMO.

                    4.10 - Starcat
Ran well in the English Guineas and the yard rate him really highly so his rating of 94 is quite low IMO. I've taken the 10s with Hills. PP have him at 6s.
1.15 - added Tritonic who has a form line with Aquitted. Note Fast Jockeys, he was bought as a potential juvenile hurdler by the McNeill family!!
2.25 - topped up EW on MoE as can't see him out the top 5.
4.10 - boarded late the Finest Sound train as original fancy Starcat is drawn 1!

There could be a lot of rain over night if one of these showers hits. I don't really fancy much but I'll be waiting as late as possible before striking any bets

                          Gotta keep trucking on...
The potential rain means the markets could easily shake up a lot. I've edged towards the ground going softer.
The last two races/handicaps are dominated by two with a lot in hand on official marks. (I'll consider a saver double on those in the morning)

                          1-15 - Bronze River 2pt 18-1, Acquited 2pt 5-1

                          1-50 - Crossed Baton 2pt 11-1, Aloe Vera 1pt 20-1

                          2-25 - King Leonidas 8pt 11-4

                          3-00 - Golden Flame 4pt 11/2

3-35 - (think he may get pulled, so waiting)

                          4-10 - no bet yet

                          4-40 - Dubai Love 2pts ew 20-1

Did the Dubai Love bet Tuesday night, and a random Dubai patent at same time with Dubai Mirage & Dubai Future.
Think there's some other Dubai's running too but wanted mainly blue ones.

                          Edit -
Really tough day but have now added another 2pts on Dubai Love 14-1
And a 2pt trixie on Sir Dragonet, Finest Sound & African.

                          Might regret all this, tomorrow.

Jersey Stakes - Final Song @ 10/1 EW 5 places. Superb chance back over 7f with a little bit of juice in the ground at a course she’s proven at. On ratings she has work to do – and thanks to three winless efforts on dirt in Dubai this winter and a flop at Newmarket at the back end of last season she doesn’t look to have the most progressive profile. However, she firmly put her career back on an upwards curve by running huge in the 1,000 Guineas but didn’t last home behind Love. This drop in trip will help and she is match fit unlike many of her opposition. She’s drawn on the right side of the track in stall 13, where there’s been a clear draw bias towards high numbers all week, so 10/1 with five places offered each way feels very very solid given this is a drop in class and she’s getting weight from all the colts.

Thursday. sticking with my Ryan moore /Frankie multi's.
                              And my L.31...
                              1.- Global Storm - 1-15.
                              2.- Regal Reality - 1-50.
                              3.- Modern News - 3-00.
                              4.- Stradivarius - 3-35.

You always want more but hard to quibble with two big priced winners of two difficult handicaps.

Still no rain but it is surely a question of when, rather than if it arrives.

1.15 Filed in the too difficult.

                                1.50 Again no obvious standout.

2.25 King Leonidas EW. Big, scopey horse who has looked like a potential Group horse. Under The Stars NR. You would have thought this race would have been perfect but instead they have chosen to confirm that she doesn't stay a mile in the Coronation. Shame.

3.00 Battlegrond (Win). Promising debut and a top pedigree. Hopefully, one race where the draw shouldn't be a significant factor.

3.35 No bet but Stradivarius looks a class apart.

4.10 Hopefully, Crowley time again. Khaloosy EW. Not exactly thrown in but plenty of potential. Should stay further but rain a likely negative.

4.40 Waliyak EW. Likely she didn't quite produce her home form on the track last season but that has left her on a decent mark. Another who will stay further and this time rain shouldn't be an excuse.

For the best of the day I will go with Waliyak.
