I'd say he was pretty lucky to have won 4 group 1s given he's not a proper 125+ group 1 horse
the breeding sheds will probably be calling now

Just reading Gosden's interview now. I see they expected Moore to go from the front as well and didn't fancy their chances in that case. Was a well planned and executed tactical performance from the whole team by the sounds of it. Think that won them the race tbh.

Two at leopardstown tomorrow who are still big prices
4:35 whisper a prayer - not much form to go on in this race so a Joseph o Brien newcomer with a fillies Mile entry looks much too big to me at 28/1. Nice enough pedigree and would look suited to the 7f trip.
5:45 Teton Sioux - cost 42k at last year's breeze ups and held an Irish guineas entry at the start of this season before first run. Looks an obvious handicap plot to me as ran over 1m 4f on second start which would be very unusual for a son of Sioux nation, and the heavy ground on two of it's starts wouldn't be ideal for that sires progeny either. Has been given an opening mark of 55 for first handicap run, and if he showed enough at home to warrant a guineas entry, I think he could have a fair bit in hand of that mark at 33/1.Last edited by riccirich; 23 August 2023, 11:33 PM.

Thinking about it, I believe he had to win the Juddmonte to qualify for the Cox Plate so that looks off the menu now.

I’ve backed them both antepost already but I’ve just spent a couple of hours on yorks Saturday card and think Sweet William 4-1 and Sacred 4-1 are both value.
Sacred form this season is superior to Kinross although last season’s form in this race will sway some I’m sure.
but even if both arguments are made we’re looking at 6/4 vs 4-1
Sacred is therefore an obvious pick at the prices now
will back both again and double I reckon.

Aye, also backed Sweet William antepost. And I get he's a fairly short priced fav in a big field handicap. But I still think he's a fair price as well. And will likely be going back in
Sonny Liston my only bet today. Nice each way sort with the extra places imo. Only bothering with the handicaps this week!

I'm into my conspiracies plus I'm a silly old sentamental sod.
Everything tells me the Kings horse will win the St Leger tomorrow. A year on from the Queens death, around 50 years since the Royals last won a classic (also a St Leger) ........it all adds up doesn't it. The King and old dog will be present as well to pick up the Trophy.
