    • Bets I've had for tomorrow.

      Ascot
      15.40 - Jumaira Bay / Symbolize
      16.15 - Louganini

The Victoria Cup is ultra competitive with 29 runners and who knows if there will be a draw bias? Both my selections won't mind the likely rain and preference is for JB who I think is very well handicapped based off his early few runs last season. Ray Dawson is also a very interesting booking and takes off a further 3lbs so I'm really hopeful of a good run.

He certainly shouldn’t have gone to the rail and allow the other to run him down. Make them move one way or the other. Especially today when the inside was all churned up.
to be fair though, the horses seem to be bossing de Sousa these days and not the other way round.
the horse probably hung towards the rail after getting whipped

He used to be mustard but he just doesn't seem to be quite as good these days

          • Acquitted is becoming a cliff horse for me since his second to palace pier

He goes on any ground so the rain won't be a problem

Going to give him another go 8/1 e/w

            • Convinced myself that Frantoio in the 7.35 at Thirsk is an outstanding bet tomorrow. After looking at his first run, he was a couple of lengths behind Bolshoi Ballet (rated 109) but it was the race at kempton on his 2nd start that caught my eye. The winner, Rebels romance (99) won a group 2 at meydan, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th and 9th have all won since. Think this race is pretty weak. Really happy with this bet at 9/2

On top of his other three winners today in his thread, kensland hates the bookies today!

                              • Pivoine looks interesting in the 2.40 at York tomorrow. 2 wins from 3 at the course (albeit both on GF), most recent of those being July 2019. He's 12lb lower than that tomorrow, 3lb lower than his other York victory, both much more valuable races than this. 14lb lower than his 20th of 22 in last years John Smiths Cup. Got a very useful 4lb off thanks to his run at Chelmsford a fortnight ago. On replay he never looked like winning, but 7th of 7 sounds much worse than it actually was, they more or less finish together and he wasn't given the most vigorous of rides in the finish... Concern would be that he seems to do his winning on GF, all 6 of his wins have come later on in the season, and he went through last season without doing anything of note. But course form is always handy at York and I reckon he's worth a chance at 25/1 with 4 places.

Similar logic with Get Knotted. He's an old man in flat terms now as a 9yo, but he's a 3 time York winner at this distance on ground ranging from Soft to GF (from 12 runs. He's also been either 2nd or 3rd in 5 of those). With allowances taken into account, the lowest mark he's run off over 7f at York has been 92 (Wins here off 92, 92 and 94. Lowest for a place was 88). He runs off of 80 tomorrow. Plenty of the usual question marks, but 15lb lower than a creditable 6th at the course in July 2020. Interesting e/w at around 14/1 with a few firms going either 6 or 7 places.
