  • Having a go on a couple today, both at Southwell:

5:10 Bold Decision 15/2 E/W - Yet to win on the all-weather, but ran a good race at Kempton on his most recent A/W run, before never getting close in a race back on turf at Leicester (over 7f). No Southwell experience, but nothing to suggest he couldn't go well on it, his Dam was a winner at Dundalk. The field is a very inconsistent bunch with no previous course winner, despite some having attempts. Kraka would be the danger for me.

6:45 Hammer Gun 8/1 E/W - This horse absolutely loves Southwell, with a 44.44% career win record at the track, and a 66.67% Win/Place record as well as numerous 4th place finishes. He does seem to be slightly better over 1m, but he has dropped to a mark of 67 (won off a high of 84 over c&d in 2018) now after some poor efforts on turf, and 7f should be of little inconvenience to him. He'd be my E/W bet of the day. He will need to break better than in recent efforts.

    • I thought it interesting that Colin Keane was riding Dot Love’s horse in the 4.15 at Thurles today. Franno, trained by his Dad is favourite for the race, yet he’s not on it. Possibly something to do with Joe Doyle riding for Franno’s owner? Anyway, I thought it worth a mention and a small stake

        Newmarket
        16.10 - Tritonic/Brilliant Light

Main bet is Ouzo. Managed to get 18s with Sky which I thought was a massive price especially with 6 places. You can still get 16s and 6 places with Hills. Ignore his last run when he was short of room and judge him on 2 runs ago when he came a good 5th in a much much better race than this(at York) behind the likes of Montatham, Sir Busker and Top Rank and Prompting. He is now 3lbs lower in a worse race and I think this softer ground will suit him as he is by Charm Spirit.
I'm taking small stakes at 16s on Mighty Spirit in the 15.45 York too and also will bet after seeing the stalls open. Just feel she has a win in her based off her second to Lady In France and Keep Busy 2 races ago but she needs to start well as 3 out of her last 4 starts she hasn't been great at the gates. She's now on her lowest mark to date and I think the soft ground will help her too.

Good call Lobos. I'd overlooked him but he is still a tasty 20s this morning. I'll add him to Mighty Spirit and Orvar who I already have for the 3.45.

Me and a few others took the 33's opening show with B365. Last week's race looked easier but he's bursting to run according to connections and loves York. Hopefully the draw will be favourable. He won the big Coral Sprint Trophy there in 2017 off a stone more so we are hopeful. Copper Knight is the obvious danger and has also been heavily backed.

He can't possibly win because Arecibo is running.

I backed terentum yesterday ar 33's in a trixie with Almeratylum and Entrancing.

Good man. I don't like it when they have to switch from their original plan but it's only a week and he has run well at York before so I'm hoping my first (and probably only) bet on the flat this season is a lucky one !

Hope he runs well. I just can't believe I forgot about him from last week so missed the 33s!

                        • Gone full irish for the Ces tomorrow.

Lynwood Gold 2pts ew 25-1 6 places - Bet365 sticking neck out, whilst others cutting

Whirling Dervish 1pt ew 40-1 8 places sky

And I'll probably back Dalton, as the trip and pace should suit this horse, just waiting on prices with that one.

                          In the better races.
i like one rulers form, his win was excellent and the form of the doncaster race is solid enough.
I've backed that at 4's with ladbrokes and had a double with Thunder road too.

That was a strange price push when LG was getting cut everywhere else. I also took it as couldn't believe my eyes
