Richard Kingscote goes to Wolverhampton for two rides, so also backed Wild Edric 6/1 E/W in the first race tonight too.
Also played a small E/W double @ 90/1, with Final Attack.

Nothing jumping off the cards much for me today, although I thought RANIA 12.15 Chepstow, will take a big step forward from her debut where she managed to keep up with the smart Time scale before her bandages came loose and started flapping around, she wasn’t asked for much after that. Sylvester Kirk had a horse finish last on its debut and few weeks ago then duly won at 80/1 next time. He seems to be able to get them to take a big leap forward. This maiden isn’t the best on paper, Mitrosonfire deserves to be favourite after his 2nd last time, but he’s certainly no world beater.

I got a few to have a go at today for me, a few tracker horses in there too:
Haydock 12:00 Swift Verdict 9/2 E/W (1/4 odds)
Haydock 1:00 Noddyolder 16/1 E/W (4 Places) & Esprit Rose 11/2 (Saver)
Chepstow 2:20 Sir Plato 15/8
Chepstow 3:20 Le Mussee 11/4
Hamilton 6:20 Nakeeta 13/2 E/W (4 Places)
Wolverhampton 7:30 Chillon Castle 16/1 E/W
Only small stakes today, but backed the singles and will put them all together for an even smaller multi as well.

My handicap thoughts for the weekend. Haydock (Saturday)
12:00 DELPH CRESCENT it’s that man Fahey who is not in the best of form but seems to have got a little better recently. Watched this run LTO and he really wasn’t trying that hard after finding some trouble. Down in class off a pound lower he should be going close. Anything above 5/1 I’ll be happy with.
2:40 BAROSSA ROAD was on the shortlist but W Carver taking off the 5 has swung it for me. CD winner on heavy as well. However bad it is this thing will plough through it. I’ll be happy again with anything above 5/1. Also AWEEDRUM for the new king of flat racing A King. Don’t think he really gets the 10f so back down to the mile and back on his last winning mark he should be on the premises. Hope for 10/1+
Epsom (Saturday)
3:00 DESERT ICON Maureen Haggas said depends what mood he’s in. All His form is on a quick surface and can he back up a quick run and go on ground which is looking like the easy side of good, or will he bounce? He’s absolutely shit in last time and if he reproduces that run he’ll win. Just a win bet and 3/1 is fair enough.
5:35 REPUTATION
This lad has done me a couple of favours at big prices in the past and he can go well fresh. He hasn’t won over the 7f but stayed on strongly at Spewmarket so that doesn’t bother me. I Williams isn’t in form though so that’s not great. Win bet only and would want 10/1+
Doncaster (Sunday)
4:00 CAMANCHO CHIEF
CD winner Can be slow away but definitely well treated likes a big field and will go on ground. Wants them to go a million and come through horses. Looks a banker for frame at least and should get enhanced price. Happy with 8/1+
Also EMBOUR my Ascot friend rocks up off the same mark. Trip and track fine and ground doesn’t worry me. I’d really like to see the hammer take the ride again though. That 5 pound is vital.
Haydock (Sunday)
2:05 INDIGO LAKE
Like this son of Frankel and the step up in trip should really suit. Priced up at 8/1 already, which is fine with me. Gosden has 3 entered though so wait to see if he’s running. Nicky Mackay jocked up on one but couldn’t have Mackay with stolen.
3:15 BABBOS BOY was in my tracker when going in at 33/1. I had a little on but the tracker note was Old Newton Cup. Stable tour read this is the long term plan. Beckett really not firing at present though. Win bet at 10/1 +
4:20 ZIM BABY
She’s absolutely bolted up LTO and a penalty won’t be enough to stop her. Probably end up odds on but anything the right side of 6/4 first show and I’ll back in in a double if I fancy anymore short ones.
SANDOWN
3:00 a few sexy ones head the top of the market and I’ll be going with VIA SERENDIPITY to bounce back to form. Completely blew the start at Spewmarket last time out so forget that. Now on a very nice mark at a track he loves I can see a big run. Also girl of the moment Hollie Doyle takes the ride. 16/1 that will do.
5:10 BLUE SKYLINE
A mark of 77 could look lenient. He flopped LTO when going off fav round kempton but liked his run previously. Plenty of size and scope about him and you might get a price about him on handicap debut.

I'm not in any rush, but is Cross Counter at 2/1 on Sunday at Sandown in the 14:25 and he looks much the best to me.
8lbs clear on OR, has been ahead of Withhold and Dashing Willoughby when they've met (Ascot Gold Cup).
Summer Moon, fair play taking his chance, but he's not unexposed at all so has over a stone to find with him.
Spanish Mission the biggest danger, but 8 lbs to find...he's 4/1.
Cross Counter doesn't have a lot of wins to his name, the last being a Group 2, in March 19... but he's finished 4343 in Group 1's in the UK since, back down in class to a group 3 surely he takes ALL THE BEATING?
Just recalling and scooby was a big fan of Spanish Mission last year, especially with a view to going up in trip so I might hold off and see what he thinks.Last edited by Kevloaf; 3 July 2020, 01:51 PM.
