French trained horses gone on a right drift in the SJP, both in the 30s on the exchange. Obviously not fancied much against the UK & Irish. Was interested in Darlinghurst as an improver.
Caught a tiny bit of Goodwood yesterday and saw Charlie Appleby talking about Notable Speech in the Sussex Stakes. He just about stopped himself saying he'd win. He definitely wanted to though !!

Nice one Lobos! …trainer comments / confidence, especially from someone like Appleby has a big influence on my punting strategy… doubt I’d have backed Noble Speech today in the absence of your post

Nice one. He bolted up didn't he. Charlie was ultra confident. Incredible price 3/1!!!
Emily Upjohn supplemented for £40,000 today....wowsers. They must be confident!
1 1/4 miles looks her best trip and she has her ground. Form of her 2nd last time is hot and the main threats are an unknown over the trip.
Going against you today mate… been waiting for Opera Singer to step up in trip and I fancy her for the Arc, so if good enough for that, she simply has to win today receiving 8lbs. I’d have much rather the Gosden’s would have kept their money in their pockets tho as Emily’s form looks strong… should be a great race!

Some of these flat racing threads have been quiet.
Maybe you've all done your bollocks like have since the end of May ?
Anyway, if you can, and you still have the will, then you got to keep trucking.
After getting done in photo's the last 2 weekends with my best bets, I'm back in again in the hardest race of the day.
Ayr Gold cup.
Mostabshir 12-1. 5pt win (fuck each way, like the last 2 weekends )
The last 2 runs offer really good form, the stewards cup being often a decent formline into this race and he gets in off one pound lower.
It was his first go at 6f and on a quicker track also, and I thought he showed decent pace to keep with the front few and not get swamped, compared to the stiff 7f he ran at ascot the time before where he was up with the pace and stayed on nicely. The winner clearly had 10lbs in hand that day, and the others came from well back.
This race generally needs a horse that can travel, not too far off the pace and also be able to stay.
This will probably be even more important given the likely tailwind tomorrow.
He ticks all the boxes and also looks well drawn. As centre to high drawn have been more successful in recent times, and the likely pace looks in or around.
I fucking hate Jim Crowley as a jockey but he had a great day today and he'll have a lob on I reckon.
Pricewise I'd have him on a similar chance (on formlines) to the current Fav american affair (6-1) so 12-1 is value, although the race should probably be more like 8-1 the field IMO.
If you don't believe me, listen to the lass in the miniskirt (overdressed as usual for a Friday afternoon, but well done for making the effort I say)
Double header Friday, Countdown then this.
Objectification or Admiration ? You decide.

Looking forward to a lazy Sunday afternoon watching some quality racing on Arc day.
13.30 - Henri Matisse 9/4 - Nap. First time blinkers will greatly help keep his mind on the job and I expect a comfortable win.
14.05 - Bradesll/Believing - I've used these 2 and Henri Matisse in some EW trebles on some Cheltenham fancies.
15.20 - Look De Vega - 7/1 is a massive EW price imo and I just can't forget how easily he won the French Derby. Forget the Niel as this is the race it's all about.
16.05 - Content EW - 7/1. Another decent EW chance if you can get 4 places imo. I know Ryan has chosen Ylang Ylang but Soumillion is not a bad replacement and I think Content has much the best form and hope she doesn't get too far back before storming home.
16.40 - Tribalist EW 10/1. Another decent EW chance if you can get 4 places. He's got by far the best form and the Moulin was not lucky imo.

Good luck everyone!
And that sums up how bad this season's flat season has been for me!
Trawlerman v Kyprios whilst not a match as there are reasons others could run well. Trawlerman looks a solid enough bet to me.
The comparative best prices of 9/2 v 4/5 seem out of sync.
Looking at the form and relative freshness I'd have them nearer evens v 3-1.
So I've had a few points on the Gosden horse,
Others I've backed antepost -- Montassib (6-1 now still looks ok to me) and Daysofourlives (backed after the cambridgeshire due to liberty lane link) the 8-1 now is just about ok but it's an 8-1 the field race for me.
Charyn & Calandagan looked solid enough for a double i thought, and I'll have more on the day if the prices flip again as the french horse has gone fav now.

I did my antepost with a winning double yesterday so all returns (if any) are all gravy so guarantee they will all get stuffed I am with you on Montassib, i think its a cracking price. Calandagan i cannot believe is second fav but i don't like Charyn might be a price thing but he has had a fairly long season and now has to go and do it in the mud. The same applies to Kyprios, that horse is an absolute weapon but ran only a couple of weeks ago on easy ground so there to be shot at but the one i have shot at it with isn't the correct horse i don't think
i am on
Long Distance - Belloccio (not telling you what price i took because you will laugh at me )
Sprint - Montassib - 5/1 - Think he will go off fav
Fillies & Mares - Quantanamera - 10/1
QEII - Metropolitan - 10/1
Champion Stakes - Calandagan - 2/1
Balmoral - State Actor - 8/1 (there is a standout piece of form in his previous and is unexposed, not got a clue who his trainer is but an Irish raider)
Basically i am anti British this weekend. Vive La France/Germany/Ireland

You might be right with Charyn, but I've been with him all season, and the races he lost were stolen and in my mind he's unbeaten. He's pretty much been the best horse in every race for sure IMO.
He has been underestimated price wise all year also I reckon but suspect that you're right and this time his price is possibly not great and his busy season might expose him to something that has been aimed at this for a while.
Tamfana definitely the form horse and a big concern - might save on her.

Would you back Charyn if he goes to Del Mar? About 11/1 now but again another short turnaround. Tamfana was good a couple of weeks ago but again a short turnaround. I would prefer horses on the flat to race in shortish spurts but just not after heavy ground runs. Charyn is the best horse in the race though without a doubt.
