Had a small bet Al Suhail at 28/1ew. He really caught my eye as a 2 year old and happy to chance him at the price.

I’m not that knowledgeable or profitable on the flat but I do enjoy a punt. Therefore a bit of guidance would be very much appreciated. How much impact and influence does a high draw have on a 1 mile race at Newmarket? What are the favoured stall positions?

TKP - Personally, I wouldn't put any significance on the draw for Guineas. It's a straight mile and doubt there'll be a draw bias - the best horse on the day should be victorious.

Ok cheers FM. Do you think Pinatubo is a pretty bomb proof fav or is there better value going for an outsider or without Fav market? From the 2 races I saw Pinatubo last season he was very impressive and he’s the next 2 in the market already. If he runs to his standard last season is he unbeatable??

I think he's going to be really tough to beat but I'm not a fan of backing at those odds (my record on short price horses Is abysmal).

I chanced Al Suhail at 28/1 a week ago. He's not the most genuine but is a talented horse imo. I like him for the Derby too.

Cheers FM, I’ll take a look at Al Suhail, I might take a punt on the extra place markets on the day

A straight mile probably negates an actual draw bias like Chester would have for example. However, it's probably worth having a look at where the likely early pace is etc. That's where there might be a pace bias at a certain area of the track.

Last year's race was a good example of this with the stand side considered to have a bias.

Stands rail looked very much the place to be today... high numbers maybe an advantage?
