  • Flat Racing - Thoughts please

How would people feel about Flat Racing having it's own section (like Cheltenham/Grand National) do?

Can start some discussions about flat racings bigger races like the Derby, Arc, Guineas - all in one place?

Royal Ascot has some appeal as an ante post event too....

Forum's more popular than ever....anyone sticking around for the flat?

(Obviously the Cheltenham chatter will continue all summer, that's a given...)

My personal opinion is it gets a bit lost in the 'general horse racing' thread?

Great idea for me Kev, might take a while to get it flying as much as in here as some guys don't follow the flat that follow the jumps. In time though i'm sure other people would find it too and numbers would continue to increase.

....think it’s a good idea. Be interesting to see the traffic and it won’t negatively impact the Cheltenham/NH threads.

Flat racing has always been covered in ‘General’ but there’s no harm in having a separate section in itself.
Here’s hoping racing can continue in any form...

I love flat racing.Nothing better than feeling the sun burning me bold head watching a few horses. (Theres a story about that) But its not something i would spend time writing about.

I was going to try and avoid the flat racing as much as I could this year even though I enjoy as I struggled to profit much on it but I do enjoy following some of the more knowledgeable and experienced flat punters posts and suggestions on here so a dedicated section would be easier and more helpful to follow posts and the different threads associated with flat racing....so it’s a yes from me but I won’t have much to contribute sorry as I’m generally rubbish.

No harm in doing so Kev.

Not a huge flat fan either but when there’s no decent jumps to bet on let’s all be honest with ourself....we all love a gosden Dettori shorty

I’ll be round for the flat. Don’t enjoy as much as the jumps but would enjoy it. Got myself a share in a flat horse this year so will Have more interest this year.

Would be great (if we get any racing!) not a massive flat fan at all but do enjoy an antepost bet on the bigger summer races and can’t think of a better place to come and read people’s views

You wonder what will happen to big flat meetings, The Lincoln is due next week and classic trials follow the week after.
The money in breeding is huge so to not have the Guinneas/Derby/Oaks would be a catastrophe for the industry, it’s simply not possible for these to be pushed back, and the trouble is this thing is an ever evolving issue and it seems it’ll be some weeks before we’ll be out the other side.
Some huge decisions for the authorities to make...

Great idea Kev, I love the flat as well. Go to Royal Ascot every year, well for the last 6 but I cannot manage a week there!!

I get the odd snippet on the flat as well as know a couple of lads who have horses so if I hear anything I can put them up.

I'd have a crack at that. I took it pretty serious last year to small stakes and did very well. Wasnt sure where to post. Ie antepost for royal ascot and the classics etc..

Worth noting betv were extremely slow updating prices for antepost at royal ascot.

Great idea Kev... the flat was my first love and still had some of my biggest wins off the classics... until I was converted to a Cheltenham nut
