Less than two weeks away and hopefully will be more competitive than last year's Enable virtual walk over!
With all the other sport going on it may have passed under the radar that Aidan O'Brien had a good w./e at Belmont Park with Santa Barbara and Bolshoi Ballet winning their invitational turf Oaks and Derby on ground described as good (looked a bit softer to me). Also Kevin Condon won the 7f Prix Jean Prat at Deauville with Laws of Indices at 29/1, having previously been only 5th behind Campanelle in the 6f Commonwealth Cup. Another Irish trained horse, Thunder Moon, was a narrow 2nd - his previous run was only 7th behind Poetic Flare in the 1m St James Palace Stakes! A touch was landed methinks.
For the KGaQE it will be interesting to see what actually runs. The weather is supposed to turn dry from midweek this week so it's unlikely to be soft ground
I do wonder what to make of Snowfall and Love who won their Epsom Oaks by such wide margins. The horses Snowfall beat by 16l and over haven't run too badly since and neither have the horses Love beat in the Epsom and Lancashire Oaks. A strict line of form through Mystery Angel and Alpinista gives Snowfall the edge over Love.
Then there are the 3-y-o colts Adayar, Alenquer, Hurricane Lane, Lone Eagle and Mojo Star - sort that lot out!
Gosden runs the highly successful well travelled Mishriff and there's Pyledriver and Wonderful Tonight in the miix with other live contenders
They won't all run but hopefully enough will run to make this a race to savour
