Job done, pretty impressive first time out. Probably beat nothing but could have won half the straight if he wanted to.

Fingers crossed leads to the Nunthorpe now. Happy with the 2 separate singles on him for that and the Breeders Cup.

Id be interested to know how close to the course record that was as he looked to be going half speed

1:02 and change for 5 1/2f seems fast

The record is 1:00.21 set by Carotari in 2019.

Golden Pal set a 1:00.88 with his easy Skidmore win last year which was probably firmer than yesterday.

Latest news on Golden Pal and Campanelle

Last year's GII Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint scorer Golden Pal (Uncle Mo) is on course for either the G1 Nunthorpe S. on Aug. 20 or the G1 Flying Five S. at The Curragh on Sept. 12 after an eye-catching seasonal debut in Thursday's GIII Quick Call S. at Saratoga for trainer Wesley Ward. I will have a bit of a strop if he's not recovered quick enough to run in the Nunthorpe

Ward clearly wants to win the race and thinks the horse is something special

I'd be surprised if Coolmore didn't run it in The Coolmore Nunthorpe, I'll be devastated if it didn't run took 50/1 Palace Pier/Golden Pal with the Hills yourodds at he start of the season.

Enough (across 5 accounts in the end, although I bet for two) to be bitterly disappointed if he doesn’t run in the Nunthorpe ...haha. The 28s was definitely still there when I posted and it ended up getting cut to 14/1 before the off.

#BC20 Juvenile Turf Sprint champ GOLDEN PAL, got right back to the winner's circle in his first start as a three-year-old, dominating the field in Saratoga's...

This was from a few days ago. First 10 mins is Ward answering questions on Golden Pal. He’s asked about the next target and while he doesn’t confirm anything he spends a few mins talking about his previous Nunthorpe losses and does make it hard for me to imagine GP going anywhere else

GP 4 years younger and the only other WW aimed at the race was lady Aurelia so he must think a lot of GP.

I’d want to see a prep run though or at least an entry before taking the 5/1 to be honest.
                      don’t forget Acapulco.
having had 20pts on at 5-2 I was into the second verse of the song 1 furlong out

Only been getting into the Flat a bit more this last couple of seasons so just watched the video of this. No wonder Ward is keen to win this race what with Acapulco and Lady Aurelia, been a tad unlucky for one of them two not to have already won it

Be interesting to see how battaash does on Friday

Golden pal would look a pretty likely winner if the bat loses again
