I own a share in Mystery Angel so it's going to be an exciting day on Friday. I'm not convinced by the depth in this year's race, just don't think it's a vintage crop of 3 YO fillies. Mystery Angel wasn't right at York so hopeful we can get a little closer to Snowfall over a longer trip. Realistically, anything better than 6th would be a great effort but who knows, she's more exposed than most but she's tough as nails and will handle the track fine.

Sticking with Varian for the oaks although I've switched to save a forest given zeyaadah's draw. If Teona goes into the stalls without a hitch, I'll most likely stick a bet on her too.

Having had a very decent bet on the Leg, I was on my feet and clapping like a demented sea lion, I'm usually calm. And then some nobby 50-1 shot of a horse made me sad, like a baby white seal's eyes as he's approached by a Canadian fella with a club.
Here's hoping Jim (not my favourite) can get everything right tomorrow. It can be done, as the race above proves.
I think they may need to go steady up front for the first half mile, cos if they go very quick he'll have to drop in and hope for gaps and a collapse.
If they go steady enough I see no reason why he can't be mid pack on the rail when they come round the corner.
Good luck everybody

It is surely very telling that Moore has chosen Santa Barbara again over AOB's other horses. Interesting also that he says that they have been able to train her this time to run in a classic as opposed to Newmarket where she was trained for her first run of the season. You get the impression there is a lot more to come from her.

Aidan O'Brien has a terrific record in this race (won 8X) and there is no John Gosden runner so you have to take all his runners seriously since he has won it with hot favourites and big price outsiders (Qualify at 50/1). Qualify had won a good race as a 2-y-o unlike the winless La Joconde..
I'm not keen on Santa Barbara despite the hype and the breeding: 2 runs means still lacks experience.
Snowfall showed a big improvement in the Musidora and I think Divinely should come on for her run in the Lingfield trial. Willow has possibilities but I was underwhelmed by her last run - she seemed to bottle it.
Of the others I like Dubai Fountain (higher price than Zeyaadah) and Saffron Beach whose sire won the French Derby, Prix Niel and 3rd in an Arc so may defy the stamina doubts. Mother Earth has since been 2nd in the French 1000 guineas so the Newmarket form may be ok rather than great.
Selections: Snowfall, Dubai Fountain, Divinely, Saffron Beach
I'm wondering again about Willow!Last edited by Supermaster; 4 June 2021, 04:18 PM.
